This piece really flexed every single creative muscle in my body. As simple as it seems, the whole thing was a major learning experience - from the head tilt, to painting dark skin against a dark background while also being underlit to, of course, the gold drip over the body. Boy if I didn't know how to paint metals before...

Perhaps the hardest part was to nail the mood and storytelling though. I went through a solid 6-7 iterations before landing on this concept of a beatiful, yet decaying soul that watches over the ruins of her civilisation for eternity. It was a wild ride, but I'm pleased we got there.
