MARCH ART CHALLENGE (Patreon)

Mandatory "What is an art challenge?":  Art challenges are a casual way for everyone to get involved in doing something creative, with no pressure or need to do a perfect job. It's not a contest or competition- everyone is welcome and all patrons receive the same rewards. Furthermore, it's not just open to artists, but to writers, video editors, sculptors or anyone with two hands and a creative thought in mind.

Hello all, and welcome to March. Yes, it's the start of March. No, it's not the middle of March. It can't be- it was Christmas last week.  

Anyways, onto this month's challenge - which I'm totally publishing now, the start of this month of Spring - which totally asked for a flowery spring theme, inspired in the days getting longer and the flora blooming like the hope in our hearts. Except I just puked a little writing that and then reading it back to myself, so in a lurching plot twist, this month's theme is actually gonna be:  

Extreme Expressions

This week I posed a question - what's my art missing? And the answer at large was "more expressions", followed by "go get some sleep". Looking back on it, they've got a point - I draw a lot of smug smirks and glowering scowls and as most of my work happens to be for you lovely folk, I blame you all for this and shall thus drag you on this journey of discovering what's beyond this horizon of perky characters with simpering smiles.  

So to clarify- what is an extreme expression? It can be ecstatic joy, or unbridled fury, or profound sadness, or electric tension or - oh my - intense lust. Any expression but the casual cool and mysterious aloofness
that we have all misrepresented our stunted introversion as.  

As you can tell, it's a pretty broad theme so do go wild with it. Literally. Make me feel my own feelings people.

So how do I participate?

This challenge is open to ALL SKILLS and MEDIA, such as:

• Drawing and Crafting
• Writing
• Photography and screenshotting (see rules for specific instructions)
• Music composition
• Others (DM me if you have an idea not listed)

Core rules apply to all entries:

• The work must be created specifically for the challenge
• It must be obvious that enough time and effort was put into the entry
• Along with your entry, you must explain your reasoning in applying the theme to your piece

Your entry must meet these requirements to qualify for points. If your entry does not meet the requirements, you will be informed of what you need to change or adapt.

Where do I post my WIPs (Discord/Patreon supporters only)?

You may post the WIPs of your work in #art-talk just to share and #art-feedback for critique. Once the image is complete, please post it in #art-challenge.
