As promised, here are the two pieces I've been working on so far.

I really, REALLY hate showing art when it's in this stage - they both feel so close to done, and yet there is so much tweaking and finagling left to do that I even feel awkward showing them to the people who commissioned them at this point.

That said, I also think it's important to show what art looks like at the 80% stage. These two are pieces that with another 2-3 hours of work will look completely different to how they do now.

The dark one will have more contrast, it'll pop in all the right places. The colorful one will have lights and effects and all the shiny baubles that make this sort of art attractive. But that's not what they look like right now and it's important to remember that most of us who work on these things have no idea how we're going to make that happen.

So I am partly showing these WIPs to show that I've been working on something, but also to show my students - and anyone here who wants to get into art - that it's a messy process that never looks the way you want it to until you've pounded hours of thought and tweaks into it.

Keep on cooking, looking forward to the wolf piece. This looks so good already

They look great! What I love about WIPs is how briefly they exist in theory. It's neither the beginning nor the end, but the journey itself. I love them ♥︎
