It’s entirely possible that I waited to post this update until today just so that this image would be topical.
In probably the most surprising twist of fate so far this year, I have remarkably little to report on this time around. After The Ides of March, April was pretty low key and mostly spent focusing on recouping energy and catching up to life, work and my dwindling sanity.
If you saw fewer updates from me last month, it’s because I largely focused on A) catching up to all the mentorship lessons I had to postpone in March and B) working on two large commissions which have truly tested the boundaries of my experience. I will post WIPs of those shortly just to confirm I wasn’t sitting on my hands the whole month.
With the weather finally lifting and fewer emergency calls yanking my chain, I’m really hoping this month will be where I really get to grab my focus by the neck and put it to good use. So having said that, let’s get to the point so we can all carry on with our day.

There will be a small batch of illustrated rewards opening this month, between the 5th and 8th of May. Yippie!
Having said that, I want to remark on something that’s been cropping up as of late:
Mystery Boxes: This reward, as per its description, is entirely “dealer’s choice”. This means that you’ll get something completely random as per whatever I felt like drawing at the time.
You are welcome - and especially encouraged - to write a description of the character, as well as any particular general subjects you’d rather I not dabble in (ie, horror, neon colors…) which might help me to find the inspiration for a theme.
Unfortunately lately I’ve been receiving critical responses to what I have produced and although I am not suggesting I can police how people feel about what they receive, this negative feedback has turned working on these pieces an exercise in anxiety and paranoia over whether I'm drawing the right thing.
So short of removing these rewards altogether, I want to issue a final reminder that if you book a Mystery Box, please make sure you are totally fine with receiving whatever the final outcome is. If you're unsure, or if your headcanon is set in stone or you have any other reason for expecting a certain outcome, please book any of the non-mystery rewards instead.

As the motive behind the tier lock was to restrict new pledges beyond ability to fulfill rewards - and given the recent downturn in pledges - the limit on tiers has now been removed for all but the Mentor, Extreme and Ultimate tiers.
With that, the current available slots on limited tiers are:
Extreme Tier: 1 slot
This tier entitles you to 50 points a month on StarStickers to spend on rewards such as custom illustrations, the new prints or artbook (which there are few left of). This tier is currently limited to 20 spots.
