My first time watching too…wow. So much in this film to unpack and take in. Thanks for the reaction.

I passively watched this movie a super long time ago when I was a young kid because my mom was doing my hair in the living room when my family was watching it. Soo, I have vague memories, but I definitely needed to watch it again with a mature mind.

I remember when this came out I was a teenager, and if it didn't have explosions, sex and good music I probably wasn't interested. ha. Sadly, though I'm gonna be 50 next month and I've never watched this. And I thought I've seen all of Spielberg's movies, I don't know why I didn't know this one was his as well, I also thought I've seen all of Danny Glovers films (well, his first 20 years worth anyway. And I'm a huge movie buff. Glad you did this, gave me a reason to finally sit down and watch. Speaking of Danny Glover, since you said you associate him with Lethal Weapon, if you haven't seen him in Silverado and Places in the Heart you're missing two of his best performances. Silverado is a western but also stars: Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, A very young Kevin Costner, John Cleese, Brian Dennehy, Rosanna Arquette, Jeff Goldblum and Linda Hunt one of the best Westerns in my book. And Places in the Heart is my wife's all time favorite movie. It's a masterpiece starring: Sally Field, Danny Glover and John Malcovich.

Speilberg classic, powerful performances from Whoopi, Glover and Winfrey.

Alright.. The first half hour I tried so hard to turn it off as it was so hard and difficult to watch, but the last half hour made up for it for sure. Than you for sharing this movie w/ us. The first two hours of this movie was just so ugly, but the last half hour was beautiful.
