Chopping Mall Chronicoms + Coulson Max Headroom + SHIELD War Games = off the walls last season adventure of an episode. Also, I believe you have now seen all of the costumes from the poster with Deke’s band outfit being the last.

Is it just me or does Wall- e look like a miniature version of Short Circuit? 🤔

Deke Shaw, the ULTIMATE bro! Ruben Mackenzie made his only appearance in AOS 3x14 before this, so it's nice that they didn't forget about him. Pun intended. Halfway through the final season and still no Fitz. AOS fans were stressing themselves week-to-week during this point. The Chang Gang brothers sold their comic book collection so they could move to LA to become actors. They auditioned for AOS years ago. The showrunners loved them so much that they made a part for them.

Remember watching this episode when it first aired... when they performed "Don't You (Forget About Me)" I was like OMG THEY'RE DOING THE WHOLE SONG?! It was a blast. Sooo perfect for Deke cause he would do that. Fraud, yes, but he had to create that entire arrangement for the full band on his own. Gotta give credit where credit's due lol.

Alright John I think I waited enough for you to build a big enough backlog for this show. Going to start watching your reactions from the Pilot episode now lol

You called it with Chopping Mall. This episode has plenty of nods to various movies, but Chopping Mall was the main one. In fact, the director of that film (Jim Wynorski) got pretty pissed off that they recreated so many shots and the look of the robot without his ok. This isn't first time Chopping Mall has been referenced on the show either. Back in Season 4, Mac keeps talking about how it seems like no one has ever seen any killer robot movies, all of which would tell them this LMD's are a bad idea. Yo-Yo shares this sentiment when she finds out about the LMD's, asking if they've ever seen any American movies from the 80's (the robots always attack!), specifically citing Chopping Mall. It seems like someone working on the show really likes that movie!

For me the absolutely weirdest thing about this episode is that even though Olga is described as being from The Balkans and the official subtitles say "(speaks Russian)" every time she speaks, she is in fact speaking Polish. Veeery butchered in pronunciation but grammatically correct Polish. Which is of course very different from Russian or any of the Balkan languages. But since her pronunciation is really wrong, you won't even notice it's Polish unless you're a native speaker. I would like to know who on the writing team is responsible for that :D
