Best Doctor Who special ever

Josh

The start of this episode is the same as the first ever episode of the show. The time vortex and the police man walking down the street is basically identical. Classic who also worked by a different format, where seasons typically had 26 episodes split up into 5 or 6 stories. There was also a trend of old doctors coming back for multiple doctor stories and the 50th anniversary was a perfect opportunity. The 60th is next year and we’re all expecting something massive

Thank you guys for watching the two mini-episodes. I hope they helped you understand this special more. Congrats on reaching this milestone in the franchise. Not only one of the best Doctor Who specials but also one of the best anniversary/reunion specials of any show.

my favourite moment from this episode has to be when the curator says "Gallifrey falls no more" and you can see all of the grief and age lift from 11's face. it's a testament to matt smith's acting that you don't notice how old and tired his eyes are until that moment when it all lifts and he looks so young! such a good scene

Bonus facts 🔵 revealed in “The Five-ish Doctors” special that came out for the fiftieth anniversary celebrations, the 5th, 6th and 7th doctor actors (Peter Davidson, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy) were hidden under the sheets in the scene with the Zygon statues so they are technically in this episode even if hidden. (The entire joke for the special is that they weren’t invited to be in the fiftieth so they keep trying to sneak into it and keep getting thwarted and they eventually manage to sneak In for the Zygon statues) 🔵 In “The Shakespeare code” from series 3 Queen Elizabeth the first gets angry with Tennants Doctor upon seeing him and orders her guards to execute him, we didn’t know why at that point but now we know it’s because he married her and promised to come back and never did (Also because Timey wimey stuff)

Series 7 wasn't my favorite, in fact it's one of my lower rated of all the series. But then there are the 50 anniversary specials, and their title says it all. And this particular one is perhaps my favorite Moffat episode, it did not disappoint. Geronimo!

So happy you guys finally made it to this episode! Great video as always. An Adventure in Space and Time (the docu-drama (about an hour long, really worth watching)) can still be watched before next episode in case you wanted to do that next week, before moving on to the next episode the following week. Plenty of other reactors have watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it, so yeah I'd highly recommend! :)
