If someone ever made a trailer for you guy’s channel I need them to include this opening death scene with the lady at the hair salon and Greg just chanting “burn her! Burn her!” And John with an agonized face saying “Noooooo!” 😂😂😂 It sums up this reaction channel pretty well!

I totally agree with you about this one. I think. This is the fault of this writing team. I'm not going to give you any justification. Yes, the witches were going to be hard to kill, and it would have normally been something that Sam and Dean would talk about. Normally Sam and Dean would regroup and keep track of this pair and go at them again when they are better prepared. So, it's easy for me to agree with you on this one because I see it as the writers messing up and not on Dean.

No. You are correct. There is absolutely no rationale for them letting them go. I am a huge Buffy and Angel fan so I loved seeing James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter and I did like the counseling scene but not killing them or having a reason not to kill them was a major problem for me.

Toasted Toad

Another one I’m going to skip, but I do remember thinking this episode was poorly written. I didn’t feel that the casting of James and Charisma went particularly well in SPN. The episode felt out of character somehow. I think they were relying too much on the casting instead of writing a good episode.

I have always disliked this episode. I expected more enjoyment watching Marsters and Carpenter and it just falls flat for me. I think Toasted is right, it just felt like some weird rom com instead of Supernatural. I don’t normally like witch stories anyway, and these characters weren’t even that likable, although Marsters is a little charming, as you said. Without knowing it, during the opening credits you clued me in to why it is no surprise I don’t like this episode.....it was written by Brad Buckner and Eugenie Ross Leming, who joined as writers this season. In the fandom, they are known jointly as Buckleming and that name strikes fear (or groans) in the heart of many Supernatural fans. They write nearly 40 episodes between now and end of the series. From my perspective, some of their episodes are good, but equally as many I don’t favor. Frequently they will write things that are out of character or simply incorrect/retcon things to better fit their story or jokes. Perfect example is the key issue you had with the episode....having Sam and Dean just walk away even though the wife had murdered innocents because of jealousy and a bad mood. You just have to shake your head and move on. There is no explaining some Buckleming script choices. Side note: Eugenie is married to exec producer Robert Singer
