Can't wait for the bloopers! Love you guys and loved the thoughts you had on this episode. Cas calling himself the new God was definitely a moment, and I have never really thought about Cas being validated here. Definitely gave me a new perspective 😁.

Did you guys (gasp!) forget to watch The Road So Far? Carry On Wayward Son? 😬🤭

Happy new year, guys! Loved the reaction! Regarding Kripke- he was still involved in this season, just not heading it (I believe partially to help with the transition). Gotta say that much like you, this always felt to me like it should be part 1 of a 2 part finale, to the point where I literally always think of season 7 ep 1 as season 6's finale lol. As in, on every rewatch, I keep being confused that this is the last ep 😅 BTW, maybe a slight, out of context spolier, but watching the ep again I finally realize why a certain character from future seasons felt so familiar- she has a very distinctive voice and it kept nagging me that I couldn't remember from where I knew the actress- now I do lol SPN has a lot of actors come back to play different characters throughout its seasons. Can't wait for you to watch the bloopers!

I loved watching how much you two loved watching this finale. lol I thought the fractured Sam part was pretty interesting. I'd been wondering all season how they would deal with that, when the wall finally came down. I couldn't believe that Cas did that to Sam! That's something that would be tough to forgive. He said he'd fix it "afterwards". Well, we'll have to see if he lives up to that promise. Kripke may have left the show, but he never fully "left" it. He was still there for a while as advisor. I think he may have stayed listed as advisor until the end.

Nah this is one of the best episodes and finales IMO. Such a build up and felt like such a HUGE episode despite it all being very diologue driven. No action really yet it felt epic. The premiere for Season 7 does feel like a part 2, and is also amazing. Although the rest of the season is one of the most disliked. But there's some amazing episodes within.

Steve Rivera

I hate to be one of those people but you guys should watch the recaps for the premiere and finale LOL They also do a full on musical recap every mid season premiere but that's asking for too much haha although you're missing some cool ones!

Greg man, I'm sorry you are feeling stressed. If you need a break, take it. We will understand. You wouldn't be human if you didn't need a break every once in a while. Same goes for John. Love y'all and I don't ever want you guys to feel like you are forced into doing this.

Yeah, they crammed a LOT into this finale. Season 6 was Soulless Sam, then those alpha monsters/Samuel/Crowley morphed into the big bad Eve, then ta-da!, it’s Castiel who’s the real big bad (and has been lowkey all season.) Sometimes directionless but always entertaining.

Loved your reaction to this episode. So fun watching Greg become more and more gleeful the worse Cas became. 😂 And while I am usually one of those to be bummed when reactors skip finale The Road So Far recaps, no worries John. I didn’t even remember until Greg mentioned it, because I was so excited for you to watch the finale. So just remember to watch the recap at the start of season 7! But if you forget, we never mind if you watch it at the end of your reaction.

I was on the edge of my seat watching this the first time. Like you, I LOVED the Cass turn. The power he has now is pretty badass, but the change in his demeanor really threw me until I remembered where those souls were from. You questioned the "divine energy", and I always thought the most intriguing part of Cass declaring himself God was how the souls of the monsters from purgatory, wrapped around a celestial being and housed in an empty human vessel would play out. One of the things that makes SPN truly stand out is that the framework and many of the beats are predictable, which lulls us into a sense of comfort while using the story to throw you off guard with twists and turns. For a first time showrunner, Gamble knocked it out of the park (at least for me). Not many shows still do this, and it's something I miss. Kripke was an active consultant throughout the storyboarding process and obviously the writer for the finale. He stepped back after this (when Robert Singer returned full time) but will forever be listed in the credits...because you know, residuals. *wink wink*

Haha that’s so sweet of you to say, honestly though SPN is very easy to settle into at any moment. I wouldn’t ACTUALLY complain about something like this when we are very fortunate to do what we do, have the support from people such as yourself - and to be totally honest, I would’ve cut that out of the intro if I was being serious haha because it would’ve been followed by a thought of “ya know how dumb you are to complain about this?”. We’re in a very fortunate position, having to balance both the shooting / editing for YouTube & Patreon can be many hours of every day, however, its very enjoyable to do what we do. We were ahead of schedule by time we actually sat down with SPN. And we Have had the past 2-3 days off, and the whole reason we were stack shooting was to cover us through weekend for Patreon reactions cause we love you guys. We were content with not having stuff go up on YouTube, however, we want to make sure PatronOJects are getting the reactions you deserve!

As someone who has Cas as on of their favorite characters, it is very interesting to hear about how much people flipped on Cas with this episode. Not to say that i condone his actions in this episode at all, I love Balthazar so much, but I was still soaked in the emotional tragedy of watching Cas do bad things for a good ending. When I watch this episode I can't help but think maybe if Dean, Sam, and Bobby kept trusting Cas maybe it would have been easier to convince him to do the right thing in the end.
