Hey guys! I was just watching this and just wanted to bring to your attention - the episode clip is flickering from 11:50 till 11:57! perhaps this is... not natural? ;)

Ack!! Sorry about that 😖😅 either it was some kind of encoding error or there's a g-g-ghost in our machine 😱Hope that's the only spot!!

This is the episode I was introduced to SPN so maybe I’m biased. I love this episode. There is often a lighter epi after the really heavy ones. It still moves the story forward. Pull your focus back a bit. Why would the angels still be bothering Dean- you noticed they explained/revealed only to Dean. The angels went to great lengths, even brought down the big boss to teach Dean a lesson. You both saw what you needed to see, but are getting caught up in the little “tv show” bits and pieces. We were supposed to enjoy all the funny inside jokes, but we were also to pay attention to the explanation at the end. Watch the last scene of last week and last scene of this week. 😉

To fully appreciate Supernatural you have to go into every episode thinking the is the first time a trope like this has ever been done. Basically imagining supernatural is the first and only tv show you have ever seen. Because oh boy if you think it borrows alot like other shows now your in one nice ride for the future. Try not to go insane with all cliches😀

I like this episode, but I understand why you guys probably didn’t as much! And that’s ok. I wish your reactions to the last 5 episodes could all be released next saturday but I know I gotta be patient. Lol

Damn, this was your very first one?! Did you go back to the beginning immediately after or was this while S4 was airing or somethin' like that? As for the episode, itself, it definitely moves the story forward (at least for Dean heading into the battles to come). As to the overall point, I feel like we got it. The final scene with Zachariah makes it pretty clear that this is a test/illustration specifically designed to help Dean confront & assuage some of the fear, self-doubt, hopelessness, and resentment he's been feeling since his return from Hell. And to illustrate that idea of destiny by showing that, even if you completely remove the circumstances of Dean's life, hunting is at the core of who he is. Then, y'know.. providing a kick in the pants before we ramp into the finale 😅 I'm actually still sorta puzzled as to why this episode didn't quite land the way we'd hoped haha. Really like the concepts and the overall "point" of it as well as a lot of the fun & hijinks. Perhaps it'll grow on one or both of us upon revisit, because conceptually I thought it was great.

2021-07-15 04:53:58 Haha I don't feel like that's so much a problem on this end. They've definitely been referencing and borrowing since the start, but part of the fun is seeing how they put their spin on it. Although, I guess if they stop putting those spins on it & making it their own, I can definitely see some insanity setting in lol.

2021-07-15 04:53:58 I knooooow, I wish we could just throw down a bunch haha. But hey, this is what people had to go through back in the day, right? 😅 Glad we're not too insane re: our opinions on this one. I'm still sorta trying to crack what it was, because I really like it all on paper & there's a ton in the completed episode to appreciate. Maybe if they'd proportioned some things differently? Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed! Now I'm getting all antsy to shoot the next one lol.

I didn’t/don’t have cable. If I remember correctly, it was back when the nation went digital, and my five available stations jumped to 10-12 stations. I found CW and SPN!
