You guys did not miss anything about weight training. Basically they needed to build up some strength to open the big gates and they needed to open big gates so the big guard dog would allow the trio to enter without trying to kill them. Thats all there was. I liked the whole bit where gon gets the shit beat out of him , again , lmao. He is really god damn stubborn. And Kurapika and Leorio , not doing anything was a cool moment too, since both of them get what Gon is trying to do and how he is. Also I liked how Killua fully believes in Gons capabilities and just when he heard that gon is here, his eyes started showing life again. I really liked that bit . As for the last scene, yeah... that was fucked up and shocking the first time i watched it. Especially because it was so unexepected . Whole family is dysfunctional as fuck, without adding the fact that its an assasin family , lol. And as for filler episode you can skip ,its 26

Ahhhh, that's a pretty good theory. If she just had his friends massacred on the spot, that prooobably would drive a nail into that proverbial coffin.. 😅

I'm sure you're not reading comments this far back anymore, but writing this here anyway! In the manga, each of Leorio, Kurapika and Gon have to open the gates themselves. A co-operative effort is not permitted. I think that is very important for the next arc, as the anime version doesn't really explain why Gon is so strong by the time he gets to Heaven's Arena.
