Just to clear something up. When the show was PITCHED they didn’t know feige plan to destroy shield but they fully put that in once the writing started. The ward and hydra twist was very much planned to happen. The clairvoyant was never going to be really psychic. Think about this. Garrett mistakenly thought the hydra motto was cut of a limp two more takes its place in ep 17 and his project is called centipede. Coulson even said at the end of episode one that they cut of the head of centipede but then they kept popping up. Like hydra always does What’s funny is only wards actor didn’t know. the writers knew so he played ward as truly good. He found out around ep 15. Then episode 17 is when the cast found out. Here’s a small clip https://youtu.be/_hIp9xZ4XtA I don’t know if you are interested but after episode 21 there is a video with hints and things in hindsight that point to wards turn

Notes The blue machine is from episode 2 The gravitonum was from episode 3 The staff was from ep 8 Ward jumped out of the plane to save Simmons in ep 6 when she was infected with the virus. The quote he said to Raina was from the pilot when coulson tried to recruit him.

"..after everything we've been through! - That! Carries! Weight!" I'm still getting Goosebumps from that line because Shield was literally his World. Especially when you look back to the first time Coulson appeared in the MCU. Poor Phil

Ahhh okay, that'd make more sense haha. I suppose it'd be pretty chaotic having to adjust well-into production, but all the more respect for the tension & energy they've been able to raise from it. Really does feel like a blindside haha. Nice little detail note about the "cutting off a limb" line as opposed to a head. And that's actually pretty awesome re: Ward. Wonder what it must've been like getting called into that meeting 😅great directing choice, though, haha. And god, for the cast as well! Appreciate the li'l clippet here. Would definitely be down to take a look at a hints video like that once the season's done. Bet there are some fun clues!

Appreciate these as well, man! I feel like I recognized mooost of these I think 😅a little trickier keeping them in line in terms of episode appearances haha

Gahhh, SUCH a nice moment for him. Loved that combination of faith & desperation in his performance during that moment. Funny to think back to the MCU just kicking off and just getting to know this guy 😭

I'm glad Christopher was here to guide for the behind the scenes! Yeah it was all pretty much planned except when the show was pitched. But once it was getting out into motion, they obviously needed to be put in the loop about the plans to blow up Shield. But yes I didn't mention it before because I was unsure if I remembered correctly but yeah even Brett Dalton didn't know about his own characters turn. He was pretty much directed to play Ward, which explains the scene where he almost shot May when he was under Lorelei's control. He actually wasn't under her control when he tried to kill her, but they weren't gonna shoot anything specific with him to tip that off, so yeah nobody knew including him.

I recognized Adrian Pasdar (Glenn Talbot) not from his face but from his voice because he was the voice of Iron Man in Avengers Assemble on Disney XD. In a way, the writers reunited Coulson with Iron Man.
