What a lovely Halloween treat! Cheers guys!

Thanks so much for the early reaction, guys, what a great Halloween surprise (especially as I woke up sick this morning, not such a great Halloween surprise). I wasn't sure if you really meant it about the actor playing Castiel not being American, but I thought I'd mention it just in case; Misha Collins is 100% American. However, he is deepening his voice for Castiel, that may be what you heard?

And now I finished the after talk and realized you Googled Misha Collins, lol. What you may be hearing is that Misha moved around a lot in his childhood, so I don't think he has one specific accent. I may be wrong, I'm not American myself so I'm not an accent expert :D

Oooh, Supernatural Saturday came early! Cool! Really enjoyed your discussion at the end - always difficult to keep myself from answering your questions. A lot of the writing and plot continuation was fortuitous. Despite fan mythos, it was not all planned. I mean, certain things were in Kripke's mind that he wanted to do, but most things kind of fell into place around it and with good writing they managed to tie most of it together. Misha is American, but has a Russian father (that's where the slightly Slavic cast to his features comes from). In real life, he's very ingelligent and darkly witty. He also does a lot of charitable work (he set up his own charity, Random Acts). This episode is not one of my favourites. I mean, it's fine but nothing too special (especially by the standards of Season 4). The main things I like about it are Bobby being a badass (I mean, how cool is that panic room?!); and that conversation between Dean and Cas at the end. That bit where Cas gets all up in Dean's face and says "You should show me some respect" is one of my favourite things. These two guys have so much on screen chemistry.

Oooh, this is Supernatural’s sweet spot. I think you guys are gonna love it.

Aw, no problem!! Really glad y'all enjoyed that li'l Halloween treat :) sad to hear you've been sick, though! Sucks when you come down just in time for a holiday. As for Castiel/Misha Collins haha, we were being serious - and also wrong, obviously, lol. Every now and again a certain elocution makes you wonder, especially when characters speak very clearly, buuut the traveling aspect + adding the deeper voice makes a lot of sense. And where are you from, if you don't mind me asking?

Haha Thursday's the new Saturday!!! ...when Thursday also happens to be Halloween 😅lol Really glad you enjoyed the discussion! Always makes my/our day hearing that. And always appreciate your feedback! I gotta imagine there's a lot of fan mythos & speculation out there, but I gotta imagine it's sorta as you put it - ideas percolating, but mostly things falling into place and developing naturally. Almost as if the show, itself, by extension of the creator/writers has its own subconscious, in a sense.. Interesting about Misha Collins, perhaps that's it! You hear so many actors from different places do American, sometimes little notes around the edges stand out, but it could also be the cadence he's using for Castiel. And that's really cool about his charity - been perusing their page since reading this! As for the ep, itself, I'm sure you've got a better perspective for the bigger picture of the season than we do haha, but I definitely agree those were the highlights. I liked the theme a lot overall, the confrontation of guilt & consequences when it comes to what they do, the ways in which they could be truly better at it. But yeah haha, badass Bobby was so much fun & I really hope we get to see that panic room again at some point 😅LOVED the scene at the end, as well. Some things I thought could've wrapped up the themes of the episode better, but in a way it was worth it to use that time for Dean & Castiel, because it is a standout. Loved the contextualization of the angels and Castiel's warning Dean ought'a show him some respect. It's like.. "I get where you're coming from & I'm benevolent, but also quick fucking around" lol

That's what we're hearing. Always excited for Supernatural, but getting some pretty magic vibes about this and the next season 😊

I know that I love this season too much when I've watched both of these last two reactions more than once. Love the story arc of season 4 and 5, and yay Cas! Misha Collins and Jensen Ackles play off each other so well. It hurts to hear Dean think so little of himself, though, and it made my day when I saw your reactions to his "Why me? Why am I chosen?" speech. As always, great video guys!

Agghhh, emotional Dean is one of our very favorite things 😭💙 really excited for what these next 2 seasons hold. Castiel is such a cool character so far & the world feels even wider. And seriously - I can't express HOW NICE it is to hear some of our videos have merited repeat viewings 😊 really, really glad you're enjoying them!!

Diana

It is pretty universally agreed upon that season's 4 and 5 are two of the best, not to discredit any of the other seasons. As a fun detail, there was actually a clip where Kripke said he was nervous about whether to introduce angels. Then he had a certain idea that made him go further with them.

Chaos T

I bet he was nervous. At the time this season was produced it was pretty risky to subvert the concept of angels. Maybe the show being on the CW is the reason why it didn't get as much back lash as it could have. Also, having seen all of SPN, it makes me appreciate seasons 4 and 5 more because of the events in season 15 put the Winchester story in proper context and it makes the big bad of that season more villainous, in my opinion.

BunkerGirl

I think the chemistry between Castiel and Dean is amazing!! (Oh! Misha Collins is American. I believe he was born in Boston, he lives in CA now. (Although currently he’s residing in Atlanta while he films Gotham Knights. He will be playing Harvey Dent/Two-Face.)
