What 2020 Movies Are We Looking Forward To?!

Godzilla vs Kong is on the top of my Most Anticipated 2020 movie list. Regardless how I feel about the movie when it releases in March, I just hope that it does well enough to keep Legendary’s Monsterverse alive for a couple of more years. I know Toho, the film company that owns Godzilla and all of those related characters, is exanding their studio outside of Japan and into Hollywood so there’s a chance that more Godzilla films could show up even if the Monsterverse were to end on GvK. And what a great time it is to be a fan of Godzilla. As for the rest of 2020, I think Quiet Place 2, Saw, Underwater, Ghostbusters, and Venom 2 are also my most anticipated films I’m interested in behind GvK. I’ll take a look at Birds of Prey but I’m not expecting much from it. And maybe I’ll check out the Eternals.

I’m more anticipated about the 2021 MCU movies, which are Doctor Strange 2, Spider-Man 3, Guardians Vol. 3, and Thor 4. Also all the Disney+ shows

Seriously! Regardless of how Godzilla vs. Kong goes down (and is received), it has been pretty neat having Kaiju films to get excited for again. Really hoping they can nail it with GvK. I feel like the current Monsterverse has some great elements & a lot going for it, but it would be super gratifying if GvK could just knock it out the park. That said.. I would be curious to see what an American Toho production of Godzilla/a Monsterverse might be like... either way in the end - just so long as the monsters don't disappear!!! Good picks for the rest as well. Glad we can all agree on the SAW train lol. I think of these you've listed (aside from SAW), Venom 2 is the one I'm most curious about. No idea what to expect, but I hope they can make it feel as wild as the first one did (...while making.. necessary improvements lol 😅).

Haha yeah, it does seem like the heavy-hitters are coming in 2021. Although, that said, I do hope that some of the mellow hype surrounding 2020's MCU stuff can make for some pleasant surprises as we explore a few new flavors.

Good list you got here, bud! The top 3 are definitely ones I'm most fascinated/intrigued by. And actually juuuust saw the trailer for The Gentleman yesterday! Haha here's hoping Guy Ritchie can bring it back to his old glory 😅
