Which video game adaptation do you beautiful patrons think David Leitch (Director Of John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw) would be a good fit for?!

Mortal Kombat 10 or the newest one Mortal Kombat 11.

Think an adaptation of the Watch Dogs video games would be a cool fit for him. The games are set in the near future where major cities have all their technology (e.g. traffic lights, cars, bank machines, mobile phones, bridges) connected to a single network (different from the internet) owned by a public but mysterious organisation and the inhabitants no longer have any privacy. The main characters are hacker vigilantes that are able to hack into the network and use it in different ways such as gaining extra information on their targets and creating diversions by controlling traffic. The first game had quite a dark tone whereas the second one was lighter so a film adaptation could go either way with that. There's also a lot of action and stealth in both games so it's not only a social commentary.

Ooh, David Leitch or no, I think we're definitely in for a Mortal Kombat reboot at some point here.. Gonna be hard to top that original tho 😝

Back then the special effects were cheesey but ok, but now it could be a whole lot better

Oh, snap!! At least based off the trailer, I could definitely see David Leitch bringing this world to life. It's got a lot of those John Wickish elements, in a sense, with the sort of seedy underbelly of the crime world and the sorta hacker organization you're with, the stylized near-future setting.. Good call, man! ...now I'm just dying to check out the game lol

The game developer Ubisoft did announce they were working on an adaptation of it a few years ago but nothing else has been said since (might be due to the response to the Assassin's Creed film as they were also the developer of the game series). As for the two games themselves, I highly recommend both of them. The first one is more like a dark thriller and is set in Chicago whereas the second one (set in San Francisco) is brighter in tone and in it's visual colours. They also upped the hacking gameplay in the sequel with things like the additions of a RC and a drone.

Ahhh yeah, I can definitely imagine them pumping the breaks a little after Assassin's 😅 and good to know about the games! Cool that they sorta varied the tone up from one to the next. Weirdly, it sorta makes sense to me they might make the Chicago one darker and the SF one brighter. Maybe I'll go find the part 2 trailer and compare haha.

Yeah, even though the two games have opposite tones and styles I still feel like they compliment each other really well.
