Boy oh boy, what a satisfying episode!

Bruce has been kidnapped by Theo so Jim teams up with Penguin & others to hunt the man down & save young Master Wayne!!!

For future reference, Gotham typically splits their seasons into two halves, operating as if 12ish episodes is one season. So there are two major story arcs in a season. The build up to Jim's dark turn was so well built up and yet I never suspected he would go there, but the show did. The mirror image of him choosing not to shoot Penguin at the docks when told to now shooting Galavan is poetic. The shot of Theo with the umbrella in the mouth in a dark, campy shot and I love it. MINOR SPOILER: I sorry dude, but uh Silver doesn't come back.

It never gets old to see rich, powerful assholes get their just desserts. Poor Jim - that man can never seem to catch a break. With the amount of responsibility that rests on his shoulders and relentless inner turmoil, he really is a stand-in Batman. Anyway, goodbye Galavan, and hello Indian Hill. On a related note, Season 5 has been on fire. The final season was pitched as a “reboot” of sorts. At first I thought it was more plot-related because of the game-changing Season 4 finale, but after seeing the actual results, it’s more of a series revamp. It’s like the show was given the budget for a full season even though it only has half the amount of episodes. As a result, everything was afforded the cinematic treatment. Even tonally things are more nuanced/sophisticated. I don’t understand how Gotham keeps upping its game, but I’m enjoying every damn morsel.

Haha no worries 😅thanks for the info!!! This actually helps ease a little bit of the sadness of knowing that there are only 5 seasons - now we can at least pretend there are 10 lol. Worried about Jim as well haha, but with as much reach and power as Galavan had.. you get the conundrum. Definitely an interesting parallel with Penguin there and everything. That last shot with Theo was naaasty. And thanks for the heads up lol.

That's a good call on Jim too - I guess he is sorta like the proto "Dark Detective" for Gotham before Bruce has a chance to rise up and take it to the next level, do the things Jim can't, yadda yadda. And that's really cool to hear about season 5!! No idea what to expect from that yet haha, but I'm glad there's at least that bump up to look forward to. Kind of a bummer to know the show got a boost just before wrapping up lol, but at the same time that'll probably make the end result of the show pretty gripping & memorable... here's hoping season 5 does surprisingly well so some other network can swoop in and save it lol.
