Mist studied the two suspiciously familiar looking ‘FBI’ agents that were standing in front of the door to his temporary dressing room holding ‘FBI’ badges. He took a quick glance at their minds with telepathy and was a little surprised that they actually were FBI rather than his family playing a prank given their resemblance to certain television characters and actors. “What brings a couple of hard working agents to a concert?”

“I want to know if your enhancement process causes any side effects,” Phil demanded as calmly as he could given the situation with his friend who was floating two inches off the ground next to him.

Mist glanced down at Ms. Morse’s feet which were floating two inches off the concrete floor. “Ah, not that I know of. We listed all of the possible side effects we knew about on the waiver that everyone had to sign before they got boosted.”

Phil narrowed his eyes. “How does the spontaneous pregnancy work, it usually takes two for that sort of thing.”

“The child is basically a clone.” Mist gestured for them to come into his office.

“Can you fix it?” Phil demanded as he stepped into the man’s office.

Mist glanced at the nymph mirror he’d set up to reflect anyone that entered his office then looked back at Ms. Morse as she floated into the room. “Second thoughts?”

Ms. Morse shook her head. “No, flying is great, Phil is just being overprotective.”

Phil sighed. “Forgive me for being concerned about your mental state considering how much you were drooling earlier.”

“She was a smoking hot redhead, I think you’d have to be dead not to notice her...” Ms. Morse trailed off as she saw a picture of the girl in question on Mr. O’Shadows’ desk. “That’s her.” She pointed at the framed photograph.

Mist glanced at Sin’s picture. “Ah, I wouldn’t worry, Sin has that effect on everyone with a pulse. I once saw her fast talk a group of nuns into having a wild orgy a couple of blocks from the Vatican in a public square.”

“How the hell does that work?” Phil asked in surprise.

“No idea, she won’t tell me what she said, probably for the best,” Mist replied with a touch of amusement. Technically as far as he knew, Sin hadn’t done anything quite like that but it was an amusing story and she probably could pull it off if she wanted to.

“I’m not sure if I should be impressed or horrified.”

Mist shrugged. “That’s Sin in a nutshell.”

“Is there any way to prevent getting pregnant?” Ms. Morse asked as she glanced at the floor length mirror set up in the corner of the room. She frowned slightly as she noticed her reflection looked better than she normally did. Nothing immediately jumped out at her as wrong but she was fairly sure that her reflection’s breasts were slightly larger.

“That depends, do you believe in Magic?”

She pulled her attention away from the weird mirror and back to Mist. “I can fly, I’m willing to entertain the idea that magic exists or that you have access to science that might as well be magic.”

Mist opened his inventory and flipped through the sections until he found a stack of anti pregnancy rings. He grabbed one of them and held it out. “This should keep you from becoming pregnant or getting sick while you’re wearing it. It won’t do anything if you’re already pregnant but that’s safer than the alternative.”

“Magic?” Phil asked warily.

“I could spin a tale about exotic energy but if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck.”

Ms. Morse snickered as she grabbed the ring from Mist. “Quack.”

Phil briefly considered arguing the point but the man had managed to give a decent number of people flight, enhanced strength and durability at a concert with a glowing staff, if it wasn’t magic it was super science on a level that might as well be magic. “Where did you find the staff?” He asked even though he doubted he’d get an honest answer or at least not a helpful one.

Mist said, “It was a present, a friend of mine gave it to me.”

“And it only works on women?” Phil asked dubiously.

“Pretty much, she picked it up from a rather warped world.” Mist wasn’t sure if Genie had ‘borrowed’ the staff from somewhere or created it.

“If that’s the case, why do you have magic?”

“Magic users exist in this world, they’re just hidden.”

Ms. Morse laughed. “Like Harry Potter?”

Mist grinned. “Nothing that widespread, impressive or backwards but sure, we’ll go with that.”

“If it’s all legit why hand out powers for free?” Phil asked warily as he made a mental note to check for an underground magic society.

“Because I can and because I don’t need the money. Do you remember being a child and wishing you could fly because I do.”

“Most children dream of flying at some point, I know I did,” Ms. Morse admitted.

“Exactly.”

“What about all of the people that will use their new powers for crime?” Phil asked warily.

“Considering I’m not law enforcement, it’s not really my problem. It’s much like selling cars, just because some people really are too stupid to be on the road doesn’t mean you get to blame the people that made the car or even sold them the car for any accidents they cause. I suggest talking some of the nice girls I enhanced into joining law enforcement if you’re worried about it or you could always send more female agents to my show.”

“So you don’t mind enhancing law enforcement?”

“Nope, I have nothing but respect for most cops. Now if you’ll excuse me, I want to grab something to eat before the next show. I’ll trust you to shut the door when you leave.” Mist orbed out of his office.

Ms. Morse smiled slightly at the exasperated look on Phil’s face. “Now what?”

Phil replied as he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket, “Now we get a bunch of female agents here.”

“What about your safety concerns?”

“I’m more worried about having enough enhanced agents on our side to win a conflict when it comes down to it.”

“When?”

“He turned a bunch of teenage girls and young women into flying Supergirl knockoffs, it’s going to get ugly before it gets better.” He dialed the director’s number.

Egwene felt like her face was going to melt as she watched Sin talk her oldest sister and her sister’s alternate into taking off their clothes and dancing on the stage while Alene watched her nieces. While they’d saved her nieces from the fever that swept through unlike the first time around, they hadn’t managed to save her brothers in law, mostly because he’d stubbornly refused to visit Nynaeve when they’d started to get sick. “I’m going to kill her.”

Elisa al’Vere snickered as she looked up at her sister and sister’s alternate. “Berowyn, why? They’re just having fun.”

Loise said, “They just lost their husbands, let them blow off steam. Besides, she’s cute.”

Egwene pinched the bridge of her nose as she realized that Sin had already started corrupting her siblings. “Not Berowyn, Sin.” She glanced around the large Taren Ferry tavern that was filled with girls and young women that could channel. There was a nice mix of people they’d recruited from elsewhere, nymph copies of people they’d found in mirror worlds and girls that had been raised in one of the pocket dimensions.

Alene smiled as she thought about Sin. “I’d have a roll in the hay with her or that handsome man she was with earlier.”

“Mist or Chris?” Egwene asked warily.

“Either or both,” Alene’s local alternate said with amusement.

The local version of Elisa that hadn’t come back through time shook head. “Mom would tan our hides.”

Loise snickered as she absently ran her fingers through her long hair. “Might be worth it.”

“It is,” Egwene muttered as both Berowyns started dancing with Sin on the stage.

Loise turned and stared at Egwene. “How come our baby sister has a better love life than we do?”

“Just lucky, I guess.” Egwene turned her attention back to her sisters and Sin, she knew she shouldn’t be enjoying the show but telling herself that wasn’t making her enjoy it less.

Both Loises stuck their tongues out at Egwene.

“That’s why you don’t have your hair braided.” Alene turned back to watch her sisters ‘dance’ with Sin. “Do you think she’d dance with us if we asked?”

Egwene sighed as Sin winked at her. ‘Great, Sin is going to turn this entire place into an orgy.’ She turned to look at Alene. “Do you really want to strip for a bunch of strangers?”

“Sounds fun and Mom and the women’s circle aren’t here to complain.” She smiled as she saw a mostly naked waitress that looked a lot like Egwene and the red haired girl she’d seen around the inn with Rand.

Loise blinked as Sin pulled a metal can of something out of thin air then squirted something that looked a lot like solid whipped cream on Berowyn’s breasts. “Wonder what she’s going to do with that?”

Sin smirked as she scanned the crowd, “I need a volunteer to lick the whipped cream off my friend here.” She made a show of looking over the girls that gleefully raised their hands then pointed at both Loises. “You two, come on up and help me out.”

“Yes!”

Egwene sent a mental message to Sin as both Loises stood up and headed for the stage, ‘You’re evil, you know that, right?’

‘I laced all of the free cider people have been drinking with a potion form of a disease prevention skill book, thus no harm no foul, they’ll have a nice night and get a rather large boost to their mana pool when I fuck them silly which they can tap for their channeling abilities. Besides, tell me you haven’t been looking forward to fucking your sisters since you saw Hermione and Willow doing it?’

‘I hate you,’ Egwene complained mentally.

‘That’s not a no and you love me, everyone does,’ Sin replied as she smiled at both Loises as they walked onto the stage. “Okay girls, off with your clothes, no one will mind, it’s just us girls and you wouldn’t want to get your pretty dresses stained or dirty.”

‘Fine, just don’t hurt them.’ Egwene turned her attention to the familiar looking apron clad mostly naked waitress that was carrying a tray of cider. ‘Other than the bright purple hair, the waitress looks a lot like Elisara.’

‘I’m pretty sure that particular girl was a mix of you and Rand’s nymph copy with a dash of Elayne so I’m not surprised.’

‘She looks human enough,’ Egwene replied as she watched her sister and sister’s alternate set the last of their underthings on top of their dress.

Sin smiled at the al’Vere girls and young women on stage. “Okay, find a breast and start licking off the whipped cream, don’t be shy about running your tongue over her nipples to make sure they’re clean.” She sent her mental reply to Egwene as both Loises went to work with their tongues, ‘That’s because Mist gave them all human forms with his Unholy Heights trick then had them give their pokegirl magic to each other’s human form with a pair of generous donation gloves so we could use the ritual of rebirth on them without having to worry about introducing weird and twisted genes to the population.’

‘Which nicely dodges the requirement of building them personalities.’

Alene blushed as she watched her sisters on the stage as the crowd either stared or cheered. “I think I’m going to like it at the school.”

“Best education around,” Egwene admitted then sent a mental message to Sin, ‘Who are you going to rope into fucking everyone?’

Sin replied mentally, ‘Amy, Amelia, Iris, Belladonna, Foxglove, Gabrielle, Nora, Lisa, Zoe, Ruby and Brianna volunteered to help which means everyone should get a rather large boost. It should be a hell of a show and a decent start on making sure everyone won’t have a problem with girls fucking girls. Can I count on your help with your sisters?’

‘As long as you can talk them into it without outright mind control.’

‘I’d never do that and no worries, I’m looking forward to watching you fuck them.’ Sin was looking forward to watching Egwene fuck her alternate more than her other sisters but that would have to wait a couple of years given the other Egwene’s age.

Xander frowned slightly as he damped down his empathy power another notch as he noticed a guy half walking/half dragging a cat girl pokegirl down the street by a leash. “I’m going to end up killing someone, I swear.”

Ranma spun as he heard a gruff voice shout, “Stupid bitch!” behind him. He caught a large man’s arm by his wrist as the fat man tried to hit a blonde haired girl that he’d knocked to the ground. “I believe you owe the girl an apology.”

The man snarled as he attempted to pull his wrist out of Ranma’s grasp with no success, “Stupid slut bumped into me!”

Ranma looked down at the pretty blonde haired girl dressed in a professional grey skirt and long sleeved shirt that the idiot had sent sprawling. “You’re twice her size, get over it.”

The man demanded angrily, “Do you know who I am?”

Xander held out his hand then helped the girl to her feet once she grabbed his hand. “Are you okay?”

The girl quickly took another step away from the fat idiot as he tried to kick her. “Thank you.”

Ranma blocked the kick by kicking the man’s shin hard enough to hurt like hell but not cause any real damage then let go of his wrist and shoved him backwards. “You’re a slow learner.”

The man shouted as he grabbed his pokeball off his belt, “Team Trauma is going to fuck you up boy.” He tossed it at the ground. “Bitch, fuck them up!”

The girl gulped as a large four armed leather clad female biker appeared with a flash of light from the pokeball. “Shit.”

The biker had barely moved when a bolt of lightning struck her in the face sending her backwards a step. “I’m going to kill you all.”

Xander spun and stared at the strange couple that were hustling their way. The long haired young man was wearing slacks and a long white shirt while the girl looked more like a goth and was dressed head to tail in black. “A bit more power next time.”

The goth girl shouted, “Blood for the blood god!” as she charged up another bolt of lightning while the young man next to her groaned at her antics.

The girl in the skirt took a step back as the crowd decided they had better places to be. “Shit.”

Xander stepped in front of the girl with a skirt as the four armed woman charged her. He lashed out and caught the biker in her jaw with a solid right which sent her to the ground. He turned his attention on the fat man that the goth had just hit with a bolt of lightning who was on the ground staring at him in shocked disbelief. He reached out with telepathy and looked through the man’s cesspit of a mind.

Ranma winced slightly as Xander lunged forward and kicked the man in the nuts hard enough that he heard the fat man’s pelvis shatter. “Damn.”

Xander lunged forward and punched through the man’s chest then grabbed his heart and ripped it out.

The man next to the goth stared at Xander in surprise. “What was that about?”

Ranma said, “No idea, Xander is usually more level headed than that.” as he walked over and hit the retrieve button on the four armed woman’s pokeball.

Xander stuffed the man’s heart in the man’s mouth then stood back up. He turned his glare on the crowd. “He liked killing little girls, any objections...” he trailed off as someone opened fire on the group and everything seemed to slow down. He gestured and vanished the bullets that were ‘floating’ in the air then blurred forward once he spotted the punk that was shooting at then.

The man next to the goth blinked as the teenager that had saved Alice vanished and reappeared next to a skinny looking man with a gun. He blinked again as the gang member’s head exploded as the young man punched it almost too fast to see. “What the hell are you?”

The girl in the skirt cut in before Quentin could ask any other rude questions that might upset the guy that could move faster than she could see, “I’m Alice, the crazy goth wannabe girl is Julia and my other friend is Quentin.”

Quentin said, “Sorry, I’m still trying to get used to girls with superpowers.”

Ranma said, “I’m Ranma Saotome, my friend’s name is Xander Harris. He’s normally a bit more sane.”

Julia raised her eyebrows. “Xander Harris and Ranma Saotome, you expect us to believe that?”

Xander turned to look at Julia. “Why wouldn’t you?”

“Because Ranma is a cartoon character and Xander Harris is from a television show.”

Quentin said, “He’s also the token normal guy on the show...” he trailed off as Ranma swapped to his female form. “Huh, okay, I didn’t see that coming.”

“Shouldn’t that take getting wet?” Julia asked suspiciously.

“Some friends of mine broke the curse, I can swap back and forth whenever I want.”

Alice said, “As interesting as this is, we should probably go somewhere else.”

Xander smiled slightly as he saw a blue haired Officer Jenny heading down the street toward them. He resisted the urge to wave as he orbed the group back to the roof of a building on the other side of the city where they’d hidden the time jumper.

Alice stared at Xander and Ranma. “How did you do that?”

“Magic.” Xander gestured with his left hand and cleaned all of the blood and junk off of his clothes and flesh.

Julia shook her head. “You’re supposed to be the normal one on the show.”

“If you call setting books on fire with Latin or surviving a hit from a Troll God’s hammer normal then sure, he was normal enough. My reality was a bit different, not nearly as many stupid choices and no Angel.”

“That would have been nice. Fucking corpses, isn’t my thing, even if they’re animated.”

“See, someone gets it.”

Ranma asked, “I’m guessing by the fact that you know about Buffy’s show that you’re from elsewhere?”

Alice glanced at Julia. “Yeah, we’re from 2018. Certain people screwed up magic back home, we’re trying to fix it.”

“How did you get here?” Xander asked as he listened to their surface thoughts curious how much of their story was the truth.

“A friend of ours dropped us here while trying to teleport us somewhere that might help, we fell in some magical pools which fixed our powers, sadly before Quentin could jump in and fix his magic, the caretaker explained that the pools turn people into magical girls that need sex to stay sane.”

Quentin winced. “I would have jumped in except someone needed to stay human to keep them sane. That and I like being male.”

Xander smiled as he realized that they were basically good people caught up in a events beyond their control. “We might have a couple of things that could help your quest.”

Alice blinked. “Just like that?”

“Sure, I have a sixth sense about people and you’re all pretty decent people.” Xander pulled an extra mana battery out of his pocket then duplicated it three times. He put the original back in his inventory then tossed one of the mana batteries to Ranma. “Fill that please.” He started charging both of the mana batteries in his hands

“Sure.” Ranma focused on the mana battery and changed it into a ring then started filling it. He really liked the fact that these particular mana batteries changed shape to just about anything you wanted.

Alice shivered as she felt a torrent of magic flowing into the strange objects. “You’re not human, are you?”

“We’re more or less human. We ate some magical apples that pushed us a bit closer to the divine side of things but we were born human and still consider ourselves human for the most part.”

Julia glanced between Ranma and Xander as she asked, “How much mana do you have?”

Xander shrugged. “Oceans worth, the batteries won’t hold that much but they should be enough for your quest if I can’t improve Julia’s mana pool enough that it’s worth her boosting you.”

“Boosting, how?”

“Ideally, once we boost your mana pool to a decent level we’d loan Alice and Quentin a magical ability and you’d have sex with them.”

Julia glared at Xander. “Is this an excuse to watch us humiliate ourselves?”

“No, I just have the ability to lend out a power that boosts your mana pools via sex with magic users. I don’t have to be there or watch, you’re attractive enough but I’m not an ass. Besides, I figured you’d be more comfortable having sex with people you know rather than strangers.”

“Sorry... I’ve just had some bad experiences with gods.”

“I can relate, I’ve had some less than fun experiences with gods myself.” Xander finished charging the two mana batteries then handed them to Julia and Quentin.

Alice tilted her head slightly as she studied Xander. He was certainly handsome and he had a hell of a lot of magic. “If we fucked you, how much of a boost would we get?”

Julia turned and looked at Alice. “Seriously? You’re actually considering fucking them?”

“There is enough mana in each of the batteries to power Brakebills for years. I’ve done worse for magic.”

Xander glanced at Quentin. “I’m not fucking your friend but 10% of my mana pool, same as any other magic user.”

“That’s a lot of mana,” Quentin admitted uncomfortably.

“Yeah, pretty much.”

Ranma frowned slightly as he glanced between Alice and Quentin and noticed Quentin’s discomfort. “Let’s see how much we can boost Julia’s mana pool before we worry about screwing up their three way relationship.”

Alice glanced at Quentin then sighed. “That might be better.”

Julia glanced between Ranma and Xander. “What do we need to do?”

Xander held out his hand toward Julia. “Take my hand and let me see what I can do.”

“That’s it?” Julia asked in surprise.

“I don’t have to touch someone to boost them but it’s easier.”

Julia grabbed his hand, half expecting a trick. “I was half expecting to have to strip or something.”

“Not required though if you want, I wouldn’t object,” Xander replied jokingly as he focused on Julia’s mana pool and worked on upgrading it. “This might take a couple of minutes.” He glanced at Ranma. “You should probably give Quentin a couple of mana elixirs if you have any extra.”

“I’ve got a stack, I can always duplicate more.” Ranma opened his inventory and pulled out several Hellfire magic elixirs. “Now that I’m thinking about it, once the elixirs give Quentin a mana pool, we should be able to lend them a copy of Leaky Limiter so they can increase their mana pools while they practice.”

Xander grinned. “Or we can just duplicate a couple more mana batteries and have them dump the mana into the batteries then use the elixirs for recharging.”

“That should help.”

“Any help would be appreciated. Speaking of help, do you have a way to cure disease?”

“Several,” Ranma replied as he handed Alice and Quentin magic elixirs. He was curious how well his idea worked.

Leet’s voice came through the speakers in Mist’s headset as he carefully rotated the satellite, “Right there.”

Mist carefully let go of the Atlantean based satellite then floated backwards until he had a clear view of his world. “Thanks. How does the map look?”

“We still don’t have continuous coverage over some of the ocean but we have satellites in geosynchronous orbit over all of the landmasses so we’re able to track people and troop movements in case some of the idiots decide to go to war.”

“Even with Aisha’s project to replace problematic nobles with shapeshifting fox girls, we can’t stop every war before they start.” Mist orbed back to the city ship’s control room then took his helmet off.

Leet turned the communication system off then turned to look at Mist. “You could always bind everyone.”

Mist set his helmet on one of the chairs. “Not only would that be a logistical nightmare, we’d have to take time to educate them on which rules they can break and which rules they can’t, that’s not going to happen. The only reason it works with the magic users is we can bind them as part of their training.” He wasn’t terribly comfortable binding all of the magic users they raised, taught or imported from other worlds but he wasn’t willing to allow the various channelers to break into factions considering their destructive capability.

Leet turned the communication system off then looked at Aisha. “How’s your project going by the way?”

Aisha shrugged. “My foxes and I are working our way through the stupidly corrupt and evil nobles but it’s taking a while. Even in Andor, there are plenty of useless nobles and that’s about the best run country or at least the best run and sanest, Cairhien is Cairhien despite Moiraine’s best efforts, they’re going to scheme and plot, it’s what they do. I should be done with Andor in a couple of weeks then I’ll head to Ghealdan and start trying to sort things out there. Violet and some of Pandora’s cats are working their way through Altara and what’s left of Amadacia. Once we’re done, we’ll write up reports on who Willow needs to deal with.”

“And by we, you mean your assistant, right?” Leet asked with amusement.

“Pretty much, yeah.” Aisha didn’t see a reason to write the reports when she had loyal minions to do it for her.

“On that note, I should probably head back to the other world, I have one last concert then I get to fade into legend.” Mist smirked.

“In that case, we should probably take a break and watch unless there is a pressing reason to stick around.”

Leet glanced at the monitor. ”Nope, just a bit of programming, nothing the minions can’t deal with. Actually, if this is going to be the last show, we should make it impressive.”

“What are you thinking?”

Leet smirked. “You remember MIB right, Elvis didn’t die, he just went home.”

Mist rubbed his chin as he considered Leet’s idea. “I guess we have a couple of ships and a cloaking device… nah, I’d rather not have someone get trampled or have someone crash their car because they had a heart attack or a panic attack.”

Aisha shrugged. “Orbing out after the orgy would work just as well. Sure, it’s more angels going home than Elvis leaves the building but the fans are used to shenanigans anyways.”

“Point.” Mist turned to look at Leet. “Besides can you actually figure out all of the logistics for the ship’s appearance and disappearance in less than an hour?”

Leet frowned slightly as he realized they had several decent points. “Probably but you’re right about people panicking. Besides, we should be able to bribe one of the networks into showing the entire show on television.”

“We should probably let Sin handle that part, it would be cheaper.”

“And by cheaper, you mean free, right?” Aisha asked with amusement.

“Yep,” Mist replied as he opened a door to his dressing room in the ‘pokegirls’ world.

Genie smiled as Mist appeared in the middle of the black stone room. “Welcome back.”

Mist turned and stared at Genie and her sparkling purple silk ball gown. “Did I interrupt a ball or something?”

“No, it was a good excuse to leave. Speaking of shows, I loved your last concert, especially the part where Sin talked the television guys into airing the entire concert uncensored including the massive orgy at the end. If nothing else that should help twist the world in interesting ways.”

“It was certainly an interesting year,” Mist admitted as he held his arms out.

Genie stepped forward and pulled him into a hug. “Any idea where you’re going next?”

He hugged her back. “I was thinking of picking up more magic and a decent weapon, any suggestions?”

“The Merlin jump has the Dragon Forged Weapon that can kill beings that can’t be killed by normal means and every wound counts as mortal. They also have decent magic and a dragon lord ability that allows you to influence dragons which might be useful in future jumps.”

“It also has an annoying king,” Mist complained good naturedly as he let go of her.

Genie raised an eyebrow as she took a step back. “So? He’s a mass murdering bastard who hates magic, he’s also human and humans are squishy as a general rule.”

“Point,” Mist muttered as he mentally reviews what he remembered of the show.

Genie gestured and brought the jump document up on the screen. “Just think of the various quests you’ll get to experience and the monsters you’ll see. Besides, watching Merlin running around trying to keep Arthur from dying is always amusing.”

“I’ll take a look.” He walked over to the wall and started reading through the jump document.

Chris glanced at Jack. “Are you sure you don’t want the excalibur knock off?”

Jack shook his head. “I’m good, I’d rather grow up with the charisma of kings perk than a magical sword.”

“I guess that’s fair,” Chris admitted as he hit accept on his rather short build.

Abby smiled at Sam. “You have a magic ring and a magic staff, you need one more 100 point perk.”

“Can I be a knight?” Sam asked hopefully.

Abby shook her head. “Girls can’t be knights in Camelot.”

“That’s stupid!” Sam turned to look at Mist. “We can fix that, right?”

Mist turned to look at the six year old. “If you want to be a knight, you can take the knightly skills perk which gives you all of the same skills then we can have you knighted.”

Sam ran over and hugged his legs. ”You’re the best.”

Mist reached down at patted her on the head. “I know.”

Selena looked at Emily, Rose and Brook. “Have you figured out how you’re dividing the druid stuff?”

Rose said, “Yeah, I’m taking the child of magic perk and Brook is taking the magical knowledge perk which leaves the Fisher King ability for Emily. We should be able to tweak or upgrade the ritual to work on a larger area.”

“At least that’s the plan,” Emily agreed.

Abby said, “Even if we can’t upgrade the area, several dozen square miles is a decent chunk of land and we can give the ritual to our various nobles.”

“If nothing else, it’s worth a try.” Mist had a feeling it wouldn’t be as easy as just handing the spell out but they should be able to come up with something. He turned to look at Krya. “Are you okay with being our seer?”

Kyra smirked. “Considering I’m already a seer and prophetic visions ability is completely controllable, I’m good.”

“That should cover everything.”

Genie glanced over everyone’s choices.

You have somehow obtained a kin of Excalibur. A magical weapon, forged in the breath of a dragon. It is supernaturally sharp and durable, and will never dull or rust, but most importantly, it can harm creatures of magic, and kill beings that can't be killed by normal means. Any wound inflicted by this weapon counts as a mortal wound and would require powerful magic to heal. Can import a weapon to gain these qualities.

You posses a staff that once belonged to a Sidhe mage. It's capable of firing blasts of magical energy that can harm even the Creatures of the Old Religion. In addition, it can act as a focus for your magic.

Magical Ring: [Free]

A ring that stores a modest amount of magical energy and recharges on its own.

Rose o’Shadows

Age: 21

Mystical Sensitivity: [Free]

Child of Magic: [400]

You are more than human, effectively becoming a creature of the Old Religion. Magic flows through you, and you stand as a peer to Emrys himself. Your potential is great; perhaps some day you will be able to turn day into night and destroy armies with your spells. In addition to this, you have great resistance to magic and can potentially live for thousands of years. However, this perk alone does not grant you training or knowledge required to use your power - you'll have to find that on your own.

Knightly Skills: [100]

The Fisher King: [300]

Through the use of a complicated ritual, you may bind yourself to an area of land encompassing several dozen square miles. You have influence over the weather and state of your land and a degree of control over the mood of its inhabitants. In addition, if fatally wounded while on your land, you may go into a state of barely conscious hibernation wherein you will survive, but not heal on your own, and the land will become barren and hostile.

“Looks reasonable.” Genie glanced around at the room. “The druids should wake up in the woods, the knights in the castle and the drop ins in the bar. Ready?”

Chris asked, “When are we dropping in?”

“At the start of the first episode which means Merlin is just getting to the city and Arthur is still a prick.”

“That last one doesn’t really narrow it down all that much,” Abby pointed out.

“True but the first one does.” Genie stuck her tongue out at Abby.

“Point.”

“Anything else before I send you on your way?”

Mist said, “I want spend some of my Luck of the Draw points on an enhancement item that gives people an alternate empowered male form.”

“Tired of playing with the limited use sex change items before using the neutral rod?” Genie asked with amusement.

“That and the cards turn pokegirls human, it’s less than helpful.”

“They’re not technically human or at least not completely but you’re right, they’re basically humans in their male form and the enhancement item would base their new alternate forms off their pokegirl stats so I can see the logic there. I’ll stick it in your warehouse.”

“Thank you.” Mist glanced at his friends and family. “Anything else or are we ready to go?”

“As we’re going to be,” Chris admitted reluctantly. He wasn’t really looking forward to picking up ten to fifteen years of memories of the middle ages but there were worse places to grow up.

Selena shrugged. “Sure.”

“Best of luck.” Genie gestured and sent the group on their way.

Mist blinked ‘awake’ as the barkeep yelled at him, something about not sleeping in his bar. “What the hell do you want?”

The barkeep glared at Mist, Krya, Selena and Abby who were taking up one of his tables. “Get out!”

Mist yawned as he stood up. “Fine, we’re awake and leaving, now shut the fuck up.”

The barkeep opened his mouth to complain then realized that Mist was half a foot taller than he was and looked like he could toss him through the wall. “Right…” he turned and walked back to the bar.

Abby yawned as she woke up the rest of the way. “Where to?”

“Somewhere we can go back to sleep,” Krya complained as she stood up.

Selena stood up and stretched her arms over her head. “Let’s leave before the barkeep gets his panties in a bunch.”

The barkeep turned and glared at Selena.

Mist ignored the barkeep as he turned and headed for the door. Thankfully the barkeep decided not to cause more of a scene now that they were leaving. He glanced around the marketplace and was a touch surprised to see the headsman's block and the man held in place on the block by the guards while Uther started his speech about the evils of magic. He reached into his pocket and pushed the button on his stopwatch.

Chris blinked as everything stopped. He looked around then smiled as he spotted Mist and the others. “Do you have a plan?”

“I was going to make an avatar, swap to a different form then climb up somewhere I could get a decent shot at the king but I think I’ll just stick an armband on him so that he doesn’t freeze then challenge him to a duel.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s good to be king and Arthur isn’t ready, he’s a prick and a spoiled brat, if Uther dies right now, Arthur isn’t going to improve. Besides, if I’m king I can make people nobles and work to fix some of the stupidity before Arthur takes over.”

“That solves that but what about the man they’re going to execute?” Selena asked as she studied the crowd.

“Any idea what his crime was other than having magic?” Mist asked as he looked at Chris.

Chris sighed. “He used magic to drive off a monster that was attacking his village and the guards grabbed him a couple of days later when someone got too drunk and said things they shouldn’t have.”

“In that case, I think he deserves a stay of execution.” Mist walked over to where the man was being held by the guards. He gestured and unlocked the man’s shackles with a touch of magic then conjured a temporary body double that looked like the man complete with ‘identical’ clothes. “We’ll let them kill the body double then we’ll teleport the man and his mother to the edge of Camelot and replace Uther.”

“Any ideas how you’re going to eventually kill Uther without Arthur hating magic or starting a war?” Abby asked curious what Mist was planning.

“We’re here for a year, that gives us most of a year to get Arthur ready to take the throne and to fix the worst of Camelot’s problems. In the normal course of events Merlin gets hired as Arthur’s servant, I’d rather just hire him as Gaius’s apprentice and eventual replacement either that or the castle’s fool.” He finished securing the body double in the shackles then wove a temporary S.E.P. field over the man and his wizened mother so that people would ignore them when he teleported them to the edge of Uther’s land. “I mean technically, as the castle’s fool, he’d be allowed to point out problems without Arthur being able to do anything about it.”

Chris shook his head. “I can’t see Arthur taking that well.”

“No but he needs a bit of a reality check and Merlin needs an actual job while he makes sure Arthur doesn’t get himself killed.” Mist conjured a note for the old witch as he walked over to where she was standing in the crowd. He rolled up the note and placed it in her hand then walked back to where he’d been standing. “Let’s do this, places everyone.”

Selena moved back to her starting location. “At least everyone should be focused on Uther.”

“Hopefully,” Mist replied as everyone did their best to position themselves exactly where they were before or at least as close as they could. He pushed the button on his watch to let time move forward then teleported the condemned man and his mother to the edge of Uther’s lands as Uther continued his stupid speech about how magic was bad. He was hoping they left Uther’s lands like he’d suggested in the note or at least kept a low profile.

Selena scowled as she listened to the King’s speech about how Uther had been ‘protecting’ Camelot for twenty years. She muttered under her breath, “He’s more than a bit unhinged.” as the headsman’s axe killed the temporary body double.

Abby sighed as she leaned up against her sister. “Just a bit.”

He waited for the end of Uther’s speech and him to vanish back into the castle then pushed the button on his watch freezing time again. “Time to replace the idiot.”
