August Update! (Patreon)

I'm sorry I haven't been posting on here, Youtube continues to be very hectic and unpredictable!  But here's a quick rundown of what's been going on with the channels:

MxR Mods

I've been trying some long form lore videos as those are what the algorithm favors - YT LOVES watch time AND because they're also easier for me to make and a good break from mod videos all the time.  Even though they;re very well received, unfortunately, nobody really watches them lol, but they seem to actually get ads so in the end they still make more than a mod video.  However, getting ads isn't my main goal, I do strive for more subscribers and views so I probably won't make many more going forward UNTIL Fallout 76 comes out.

MxR Plays

Hit some seriously high views for a period but now has kind of fallen back down to earth.  Here's the big news though, REACTION videos all of a sudden started monetizing at 1/3 of the rate of literally any other video pretty much right after e3. TWO of them in a row even got straight up demonetized AS SOON AS I SET THEM TO PUBLIC.  I was at the final stages of hiring an editor before this happened and so I couldn't offer this person a job in the end.  Therefore we are moving back towards vlogs/cooking/unboxing whatever else we used to do.  I'm not too upset about that though because we are getting very tired of reacting to things for hours at a time.  I am upset though because reaction videos are really what grew this channel. 

That's just a quick synopsis, I might go into more detail in a full video soon.  

Anyways, despite all this, life is still good,  I'm enjoying what i'm doing though it is a lot of work as I get older I appreciate more and more the freedom I have vs what a traditional career has to offer.  I continue to try and stay optimistic despite conditions on YT getting worse and worse lol.  And seriously I do not enjoying telling you guys bad news I really wish I could come on here and tell you everything is getting better on the YT end.

I remain grateful for my loving, hardworking girlfriend and all my amazing supportive fans, especially you all here on Patreon who have made my life much easier and less worrisome.
