Unreleased Song #25: First Day (Patreon)

By now, you can probably tell that I really enjoy writing custom songs.

From a Christmas song, to a surprise first dance wedding song and a few anniversary love songs… I’ve loved the custom projects over the years. This month's Patreon unreleased song is a custom song originally written as surprise anniversary gift from a woman to her husband in 2013. They fell in love when they were young, had two babies and one on the way. She wanted to surprise him with a personal piece of music. In an email, she shared the beautiful details of their love story and this song came spilling out of me. Gus Berry produced this recording.

I hadn’t heard “First Day” in years… I just happened to come across it in my emails earlier this year! With McKenna's arrival around the corner, I related to the lyrics. It may have made me cry, but what doesn’t?! I’m currently a puddle at all times.
