Spring Break of 2010. There were 100 of us Berklee students on the "Nashville trip" where we spent a week learning the ways of Music City. Our days were filled with panels from some of Nashville's greatest musicians, engineers, producers, music publishers and more... It was what lead so many of us to flock to TN after graduating. One of the songwriters who sat and shared his story with us was Gary Burr.

Gary has written countless hits... and has had quite the career. Here's his wikipedia cause it won't all fit in this page. :)

Eight years later, I was invited to sit in the round with Jesse Terry, Sarah Darling, and Gary Burr at the famed Bluebird Cafe. Gary & I ended up sitting next to each other in the circle. He's some kinda savant. He'd never heard my songs but he intuitively added guitar parts. It was a "pinch me" night of music. Every time he played a song the crowd went wild. If you've never seen him... put that on your bucket list.

ANYWAY... after the show, Gary was so kind and we put a co-writing session on the books. 'Those Who Follow After' is the first song we wrote together. I was so nervous. I grew up singing to his songs! You might be able to hear the nerves in my voice on this demo. It was recorded that day in his studio. It's not perfect but the message is clear, and I think it's one that needs to be shared in this time.

I hope you enjoy it!

I dont know how to reply to your other comment but for adding to itunes, you have to do it from a computer. Download the song from patreon onto your computer and open it up in itunes & save it to your library! I was trying to do it from my phone but you don’t have the same options in itunes. Good luck!
