Drezsharak, the Fortress That Lurks, is a colossal spider stalking in the Black Depths, the ultimate symbol of House Aldrath's dominion. The eight noble houses of the Dark Elves, each lead by cunning matriarchs and her coven of soothsayers, favorites and advisors, govern the Black Depths. They are entwined in a seemingly endless web of intrigue, power shifts, and dynastic struggles, with their realm being as treacherous as they are. Extending beyond the sun's gaze into eternal subterranean darkness and far removed from light or color, it is a cruel world, forever lurking and lying in wait, both unfathomably distant yet dangerously near. Within this underground realm, territory is defined by depth rather than horizontal expanse. The Black Depths are divided into layers, each House of the Dark Kin ruling over one such layer. With increasing depth, both realm and ruler inch ever closer to the ever-corrupting abyssal plane. At the lowest layer, the final house resides, gazing longingly into the beckoning abyss they were once appointed to guard, their minds and culture entwined with the dark energies seeping upward. Into this lightless world, Drezsharak was born, spawn of an ancient race of arachnids imbued with the essence of a spider god best left forgotten. This deity once used these spiders as vessels, terrorizing the world above and instilling a primordial fear of spiderkind that still resides deep within the soul of every living being. Though this god is now gone, noble house Aldrath holds similar command over these ancient spiders, upholding their control by establishing a soul bond between spider and a chosen heir who henceforth commands the spider.

A sacred ceremony to gain control over the body of Drezsharak

Often siblings are used for this purpose, a favoured daughter becoming the head of the house, and a sibling is dubiously honored to become one with Drezsharak. Rivalries often arise between different families of the house who claim the throne for themselves, and even among the siblings, the more capable will ascend the throne, and their sister or brother will undertake the "Dark Betrohal", a sacred ceremony to gain control over the body of Drezsharak, with no hope of retaining or returning to their own corporeal form. Drezsharak herself serves as status symbol, prestigious mode of transport and brutal war machine against other houses.

WEBLURKER ARACHNID

Based on your disposition towards spiders in general, a confrontation with Weblurker Arachnids can range from unpleasant to traumatising. They are vicious predators who are dangerous when you see them, as they can unexpectedly cross surprising distances with mighty leaps, but infinitively more dangerous if you don’t, as they excel at lurking in the shadows while waiting in their web, eager to strike as their prey becomes more and more entangled. Megaarachnids usually hunt alone or in small packs to take down bigger prey, but are also known to band together in vast colonies, occupying claustrophobic burrows or abandoned structures, creating a web-covered and egg-filled nightmare realm littered with their victim’s dried out husks.

• 00 Single Map Releases 01 4K and HD - I fixed broken references for the Victorian Living Room. We deleted/renamed the Pack 1 and Pack 2 Folders to make sure the hierarchy limits are respected.
  

• CoS 02 Tser Pool Camp - 22 4K and HD - Added a link to Eva's tent from the center map. Added links to the sceneries of Eva's tent. You can now move to the sceneries from within the tent.

• Haunted Village - 75: 4K and HD - We fixed an error that caused the scenery images (static images) to be much larger than they should have been. We were able to reduce the size of the release by an incredible 90% (from 3 GB to 300 MB).

• The Magnificent Mansion - 38 4K and HD - We added a link to the Patreon release post to the One Shot journal where you can download the Amygdalyan token.

Our content at Beneos Battlemaps and Sceneries has not been rated by any public rating board. However, we strive to create content that refrains from glorifying violence and brutality. While our fantasy adventure maps may contain traces of violence or depict grotesque creatures, these elements are not the focal point of our creations.
