"Meghan! Meghan!" I heard my boyfriend's voice. My eyes slowly opened, he was holding me in his arms at the door of my house. "Are you okay?"

"Eh? Yes, I feel good… what happened?" I asked.

"We were talking and suddenly you fainted... I managed to catch you just in time, do you feel sick?"

I got back on my feet and lifted my hands feeling a strange tingling on them that went up all over my body. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts.

"No, I'm okay... it must be my nerves or something" I said sighing and trying to calm down "I don't feel sick or in pain, don't worry..."

"We can always put it off until the day you're ready, you know that right?" my boyfriend said with an obvious expression of concern.

For a few seconds I considered it, my body really felt strange. I have been in stressful situations throughout my life like job interviews, but never had my body overreacted to the point of fainting, without a doubt something was not right.

I had avoided meeting my boyfriend's parents for a year and a half since we started dating. I think it is something unconscious within me, for some reason that situation exceeds my limits. I decided I have to face it and take that weight off my shoulders at once.

"Yes! I'm fine, let's go!” I told my boyfriend. With some concern, he took my hand and helped me walk towards the car.

Along the way, my body began to feel stranger. The tickling was already reaching my legs and my face. I was beginning to feel feverish. However, it was not a common fever. I did not feel ill or in pain at all. It was almost as if my body was warning me of something. I figured the closer I got to meeting his parents the more nervous I would get, so the symptoms make sense.

In a few minutes, we were in front of the door of his house. His mother opened the door and greeted us.

"Hi mom, this is Meghan, my girlfriend... Meghan, this is my mom, Rebecca" said my boyfriend, gesturing as he introduced us.

"Oh my, you really are as pretty as he said you were" Rebecca told me with a big smile "Come on inside you two".

We both went into the house, waiting in the living room. "I'll go get your father. You'll see how happy he will be to finally meet you..." Rebecca said leaving us alone.

I looked at my boyfriend. My nerves in addition to the symptoms of my body were making everything more difficult. We sat on the couch and my boyfriend looked at me curiously. "Meghan? What is this?" He said pointing to my hand and holding it.

I raised both of my hands and saw something that horrified me. The two were splitting up, as if they were duplicating themselves.

"W-What?!" I said scared. "Am I... am I mutating?!"

"No... It can't be, you don't have the mutant gene... do you?" said my boyfriend almost panicking.

"No, I don't know... there are no mutants... in this c-city..." my sentence was interrupted by what felt like an explosion inside my body. The symptoms I had before intensified and my entire body began to creak loudly.

The fabric of my dress began to tighten as my torso expanded. Little by little, like a mitosis effect, my torso separated and doubled. I felt I was being pushed to the right of my body. Fighting for space, this new torso to my left looked at me with a surprised expression.

"AHHHH !!!" we both said at the same time, trying to push ourselves apart, but stopping immediately when we felt the rustle of the fabric about to break.

"W-Wait... wait!" "Yes... sorry" we both looked at each other in shock. Apparently, my new clone cared as much about our clothes as I did. My boyfriend stepped away in shock, looking at us with wide eyes and without making a sound, surprised by what was happening in front of him.

"Meghan?" he managed to whisper. We both turn to look at him "Yes?" We answered and then looked at each other again.

“No, wait... I'm Meghan, you just showed up now..." I said to my other half.

"No, I just…" said my other half, looking at my earrings and raising a hand to touch hers, only not finding anything in her ears ”Oh... it... it is true..."

I watched her with concern, noticing how her eyes said it all. "Relax... we just mutated..." I said in an attempt to calm her down while I pat her hair.

"I know... I, I have all your memories... I feel the same as you, as if my life had continued from this point on... but, I am the copy," she said with tears in her eyes.

"You mean, you are my sister, Zara..." I said, calling her by my middle name.

Zara smiled at me and nodded. Surprisingly the nerves were gone along with all the strange feelings in my body. I felt normal and now I was not alone in the same boat. She turned to look at my boyfriend. "I suppose you have two girlfriends now..." she said winking at him.

I was always a very jealous girlfriend, but in this case, I did not feel anything, it's not like he could cheat on me with my own sister after all.

I was about to laugh at the situation, but Rebecca interrupted us by walking into the room, along with our boyfriend's father.

"See, here is his girlfr..." Rebecca stopped, covering her mouth and looking in shock at our new figure.

"Dad... I can explain..." our boyfriend said scared.

Zara and I laughed in unison and waved one hand each. "Hello!" we said full of confidence. "We are your son's girlfriends." "It's a pleasure."

His father sighed and nodded "The pleasure is mine… I did not know my son was dating mutants," he said with a very calm tone.

Rebecca and our boyfriend looked at each other knowingly. My mutation gave me a lot more confidence in myself for some reason. I trust I can make his father accept me… I mean, us.

That must be a very clever mutation if it could replicate her hair style.
