IanHubert

Wait really?? I can see it- although I JUST uploaded it.. maybe it's still... huh. Let me look.

IanHubert

Dang yeah, it's working on my end. Maybe try reloading in 10 minutes?? I figured as soon as it was done processing it was good to go, but maybe it takes a while to propagate to international servers or something?? Sorry about that.

Yea sometimes when a video is like 2 seconds new it takes a little longer till I’m able to view it.

Awesome! Shape keys are great for a lot of things and I've used them quite often. However I've never thought about that min/max thing before. Thank you for the inspiration! :)

Vectoring or vectored thrust is the name for when the jet points in directions

Thanks for re-instilling my childlike wonder at the power of shape keys--and instances!

You did good Ian! Actually only used shape keys for capturing states but these blends look delicious. When I first saw the title of pigeons and jet engines I thought the former shape shifts as it gets sucked into the latter

Amazing!! You always make my mind boiling with a lot of possibilities!!

Awesome!! Thank you for a thorough explanation of shape keys!

Really awesome ! Thank you very much , please keep doing some "beginners" tutorials like that ^^ I am completely beginner in Blender and you are my Blender High school basically. You rocks! I love that you explains everything you do, even the basics things. Your tutorials are the bests!

Shape keys are all cool and whatnot, but cutting out the nozzle flap part from the plane with the knife tool was totally preposterous! I would've spent a good chunk of time modelling that thing.

where can i get the pigeons ?

Anonymous

Great video, really thought it was going to end in jet powered pigeons

My first experience with shape keys was your moths lazy tutorial. The fact they can be translated as morph targets in Unreal has changed my life (for the better, of course) :D

Where can we snag these pigeons?

YakovlevArt

I'm sure you've seen the cut out add-on. pretty much what you do with knife tool, but faster. Have you considered using that in your workflow?
