I still have to draw the next page of the comic, but I'm so proud of how this set piece turned out that I figured I'd post it. x)

I had a lot of trouble getting Blender's freestyle line art to work the way I wanted, particularly as I kept adding more objects. But I realized if I'm careful with the way I use the cel shading and ambient occlusion that I can still get a very detailed but still soft and almost painterly look. I might end up using this style more for exteriors and still use lined backgrounds for interiors where they benefit from the structure. (Alternately I could always go back and re-do the first two pages without lines.) Depending on how things go as I continue working on the comic I might end up using this style more.

Thanks! Yeah in my mind I always intended to go with line art backgrounds. It wasn't until I started running into issues and began messing around that I realized I could do away with lines altogether and get an even better result. x)
