Most interesting question for me atm is (and i'm not sure if or when it will be adressed): I don't believe that Marco could have the insane funds needed to buy martian warships to build his "free navy". So... how and why do martian (military) higher ups "sell" them to Marco? Weapons are one thing but whole frigates, destroyers and more? How do you cover that up? Also interesting: yeah on mars they blew up the parliament (the civil government), but there where not asteroids like on earth. Earth got it much more worse. In conclusion: How "free" is Marco's Navy really or is he just been used by Mars? Something is definitely wrong here.

Perhaps Marco is paying for all these toys with non-traditional currency. I.e., the asteroid attacks were the payments, and delivery of the toys was contingent on the success of the attacks. I initially thought Marco may be paying for these things with the protomolecule sample. However, I could definitely see him using the sample not as currency, but as a means of preventing a scenario in which the person/group that's supposed to deliver the toys decides to just kill him and his crew instead of giving him the ships.

Because I know the overarching story, for me the most interesting part of what is happening is both at the most granular level, ie in between individual characters, and the story about humanity the writers are trying to tell. "Violence begets violence": this was what Ashford was trying to lecture his Belters on the Tynan at the end of S4 and a powerful moment and lesson it was which fell completely on deaf ears when the crazy Martian stabbed one of the Belters to death. Fred Johnson also unleashed horrific violence on unarmed Belters as the Butcher of Anderson Station, learned his lesson and as he said in E1 this season, he started building and thus redeemed himself by becoming a champion of the Belt but in a whole different way, by enhancing its economic future rather than reacting with violence the way Marco is. Because Fred Johnson had a lot of followers and Belters that agreed with him, he was targeted to die by Marco's faction in order to eliminate the person, the good person who represented non violent restitution for the Belt. (just think on how the US is at this moment dealing with these exact same issues!!) . And I have to slightly disagree with you on one point: Holden, Alex, Bobbie AND Naomi are all in absolutely key positions to have an impact on both the immediate and far reaching future of the Belt, the Sol system and humanity's future! Poor Amos and Peaches have only planet wide destruction to try and overcome, survival at its most basic form and yet they are all dealing with challenges to survival right now.!! God I LOVE this show!!
