You know I do like the show but I need a Celtic guide cause there are somethings I do not understand culturally.

It's not really about religion anymore - it's about Irish vs British. Its just that people who consider themselves Irish and want to see Ireland reunited happen to be Catholic (and Catholics were treated like dirt in NI after Ireland was partitioned) whereas Protestants see themselves as British and want to remain part of the UK.
