I give you project X5!

Honestly, didn't want or expect an SUV in the fleet, but my girlfriend loves the X5. When I jokingly showed her this one, she said that's the car for me and actually insisted that we go and see it. And she never gets excited about cars!

So I bought it for her right before we went on vacation. It's a 2009 E70 X5 V8 4.8i, N62B48 355PS (Alpina engine is based on N62B44).
The main reason we got it is the color combo. Space gray paint over Nevada saddle brown interior. Combine that with 20" summer wheels and it looks the business! Haven't seen another one in such nice spec for sale.

It comes with a story, of course. I bought it from a guy who had it for 2 years and wasn't successful in getting it through TÜV inspection. The car was imported from Dubai where it spent all its life, which means you have to do a big TÜV 21 inspection (like with project Dubai and Raleigh) to get it road legal and I think he didn't know what he was getting himself into.

It's in rather good shape for 184k km (114k miles) and still wears its original paint! Needs work naturally, the usual N62 stuff, but not a massive project. More on that in the upcoming video.

I have to admit, I wasn't too excited in the beginning, but now that I had time to go through it, I am and I'm looking forward to wrenching on it and seeing how this house on wheels behaves on the road. Hopefully, you like it as well! No idea how the X5 will do with the audience. 

In other news, I bought the Alpina engine in Poland and it's on the way! As soon as I have news if it's good or not, I'll drop an update.
