Just wanted to give you a quick update and progress on things.

The next video is taking longer than usual since I had a lot to do these past couple of weeks.

The vapor blasting cabinet finally arrived from the UK from Vixen Surface Treatments and it's magnificent! You can see before/after cleaning the parts in the cabinet, the finish is amazing.
Took me a couple of days to set up the machine, then Mark from Vixen came and we did little filming, explaining how the machine works and so on. This will be in the next episode of the workshop build that will be out this month.

Then I had to finally do the electrical wiring in the shop. The cables were everywhere on the floor and it was driving me nuts so I ran the cables, connected all of the lights and the workbench power outlet. Took me 3 days to do this.

After that, I was back working on project Marbais, the E30. This will be the final episode on it and it's that last part of the project that's always taking the longest. I spent nearly 3 days cleaning the interior and making it mint.
Right after that, 4 days doing paint correction and making it look stunning from the outside.

You know I don't like detailing and this is why, way too time-consuming and labor-intensive when doing it alone. I thought I'd be done in 2 days tops, but the clear coat on it is really hard and it was slow going cutting and removing scratches and swirls.
Today I worked from 8:30 until 10 in the evening and it's finally finished. Ceramic coated and now it needs to sit for 24 hours for the coating to cure.

It looks ridiculously good and I'm going to round it off with original, freshly repainted BBS 15" rims. Need to do few odds & ends tomorrow and then I can at last take it for a ride and film the last part of the episode. The weather is horrible but hopefully I get one day without rain this week to finish filming and start editing. If all goes to plan, the video will be out towards the end of the week.

The Alpina engine is still being worked, but that too is going slowly. Last I heard, he ordered the sleeves and started working on the heads. If it's done by the end of this month, I'll be happy.

On 21st I'm going on a vacation to Barcelona with my girlfriend, after that family time and on 3rd January I'm back in the shop working full steam to catch up with projects and videos. Planning to continue working on project Karlsruhe, E32 750iL.

Did I mention it's freezing cold outside and I have no heating in the shop? Yeah, that's been great fun. Trying to figure out something there as well, when it gets colder it'll be very challenging to work in there.

That's about it for now. Just a quick update to keep you in the loop. As always thank you very much for being here and for your patience! Cheers and happy holidays!

Thanks for the update and Happy Christmas!

Good luck! Look into cheap diesel heaters. They only need to burn short periods to get the shop warmish and not that expensive to buy and run.

Thanks for the update! Safe travels, happy holidays, and enjoy the time off man! 😎

Thanks for the update Streten. Have a well deserved vacation and get some rest; charge your batteries for the next year! As for the heating situation or lack there of, get some portable heaters from Amazon, they’re cheap and more efficient nowadays. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

Thanks for the update Sreten. Enjoy your break from qork with your girlfriend. Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. We'll still be here. Cheers.

Thanks for the update Sreten. New toy looks awesome. Also, it's your fault, but I am now looking to buy an E39 touring, something VERY rare in NZ - I gather that fewer than 200 were ever sold here.

Those before and after shots of parts and polishing are amazing. The finished machines that leave your garage will be better than ever, mechanically and aesthetically! Merry Christmas to you and yours (and all the other Patreons who make this possible)! Thanks for another amazing year of content!!

Already left the beer in the fridge to start the cooling process. Can't wait for another video. You have actually inspired me to start doing my own repairs in my own car. Not a BMW, but it's a german sibling.

Wow, that blaster did an amazing job ... all you need now is a set of zinc plating tanks and a yellow passivate ;)

Now I want a vapor blaster, thanks 😡 The work you are doing on that e30 is nothing short of amazing. Can’t wait for more updates and videos. Happy holidays!

Those parts are so clean! That cabinet is going to be a game-changer for re-using parts. Can't wait to see the next video and enjoy the holidays.

Great update! The E30 looks amazing and the vapor blasting cabinet is a seriously nice addition to your restoration arsenal.

Man the E30 really is a thing of beauty. When you first got the car and you said you were going to keep the stock steel wheels, I was hoping you'd change your mind and go with the style you chose. I think that is the best look for this car, bar none. Congrats. Really, really *chef's kiss*

frohe Weihnachten und ein gutes Neues Jahr - Great update - Danke.... What a mirror finish - you must be very pleased and proud on how the E30 has turned out. Can't wait for the video. The blasting cabinet must be so rewarding to use - goes in cruddy and comes out beautiful. Nice. :0))

Thank you Sreten, thank you for sharing what you do, and in my case, helping me start to dream of an old doer upper one day I can attack and help live again. I was also super excited to see you comment on Alex from LegitStreetCars latest video about his 540i - I hope that you guys can do something together as I really enjoy his content as well - slightly different style, but similar outcomes. I have a question if you would consider it; there are many of us I am sure who have had to ‘pause’ our love of ‘nice’ cars - I’ve gone from an e39 M5 to a F11 520d - would you consider taking something like an old 520d with the common N47n engine and working through its common faults back to perfect condition? I’m enjoying learning about inlet manifolds, EGRs, and so on as I methodically work to bring what I have back to good condition and enjoy what I have. Lastly, from my Munich g/f’s family and I - to you and your g/f and families - Ein gesegnetes Weihnachtsfest!

Thanks for the update, Sreten. Love your work and have a great holiday!

Streten - I had the same problem as you re heating: but I work outside in the cold in Scotland. Pals in the garage trade suggested Dickies Duck Insulated Coveralls and they have genuinely changed my life. You just need a pair with M539 branding and you'll be toasty even in the sub-zeros. Slightly Michelin Man looks but worth it.

Get a pair of 8kw chinese diesel heaters they will provide heat while u can still record your videos without noise disturbance

Wow, very nice progress, i saw all the images already last week on your Instagram account

My hometown is Barcelona! It would be a blast if we could meet 😳

That blasting cabinet is amazing. I want one just to clean the parts on my own old car!

Thnx for the update! E30 and blasted parts look mint! Bravo! As always - thumbs up!

If you can get a blaster with a bloody windscreen wiper, getting a damn heater in that place to bring the temp up a bit shouldn’t be a problem right?

Excellent progress, my wife is still wondering if you will wear Lederhosen in an upcoming video???

You should try one of these diesel webastos for the workshops ~10kW+

If you come to Barcelona the beer is on me 👌🏻
