Alpina landed in Frankfurt early on Tuesday morning!

Lifts and equipment from Bendpak landed the day prior so I haven't even had a chance to look over this glorious turd. Just snapped these 3 pics and parked it. The battery is kaput and the mandatory check engine light is there, I already love it. Not sure when the video will come, but I'll keep you posted.

Yesterday and today all day I was installing lifts with Luuk from the Netherlands. Liftmotive is his company and he's the official Bendpak importer for Europe. He's been a tremendous help and we knocked out everything pretty quickly. Would've taken me days if it weren't for him.

The 2-post is yet to come (I hope, we still didn't get a response from BendPak), but the rest is up & running. The 4-post lift is awesome and fantastic quality all around. I quite like my old Twin Busch 4-post, but BendPak is simply put, a class above. It's a bit narrower than the old one, but the tracks are wider and it lifts a lot higher than Twin Busch. I also got air operated axle jack that rolls in between the tracks.
The scissor lift is awesome too. Very clean when installed, doesn't take up much space and will be great for small quick jobs.

The tire changer and wheel balancer are brilliant, I used them for the first time today and it feels so good knowing I don't have to deal with tire shops anymore. They are great quality and will be easy to work with.

In other news, on Friday, I'll be in Munich visiting BMW Group Classic all day. Not sure what will the agenda look like, but I'll meet Benny again and supposedly the boss of Group Classic and see some of theirs incredible machines so I'm pretty excited about it! I'll bring my camera just in case, but doubt I'll be allowed to film.

Anyway, that's it for now. Part 5 of project Marbais is coming in a couple of hours, the video is uploading now.

As always, thank you for being here!

Hmmmm scissor lift ... should make bleeding the brakes much easier, shouldn't it? Either way: Super happy for you with regards to your new equipment. And of course: The magnificen new turd in the shop! Also: Enjoy Munich! Weather should be decent on the weekend!

You must be pinching yourself at the amazing progress the channel has made, especially with all your new investments. Well deserved, especially as you are the best content out there by a mile.

a couple of questions: is it necessary to bolt these post lifts to the floor for stability and safety? The Speedo on Chicago is in MPH, are you planning to change it to KMH as the major inside dial? And is that a new V12 engine I see lurking in the shop? Who is going to be the lucky recipient? 😊

Have you filmed the set up process of the lifts? Would be an interesting video surely

m539restorations

It's not, 4-post is a mobile lift and can be safely used without bolting it. Been using the other one like that all this time, but I will bolt it just for sake once in its permanent place. I'll try to change it to km. That's the donor M73 V12 engine for E31 :))

m539restorations

I did! Not super in detail but yeah, most of it I filmed and will be in the next workshop build episode

It's great seeing someone's efforts and hard work result in such success. Eagerly awaiting another well done video.

Congrats on the upgraded toys/tools! Happy for ya! Where are the tire/wheel equipment going to go? Rearranging in order I'm guessing?

Kees Pameijer

Dear Sreten, I am amazed by the new project, what an awesome turd! I just can't wait! I also can't wait for the collaboration with Misha Charoudin on the Russian M5! Can you somehow clone yourself so you can do all the cool upcoming projects simultaneously? ;-) Keep doing the things you love, keep doing what you do and don't forget to stop for some pastry every once in a while.

Your progress is incredible Stretn. Posting high quality content on a subject of enormous interest. Now the manufacturers of high quality equipment are noticing an ambitious young man who’s quite talented and know their gear will be shown favorably to a large audience in your content. Keep up the good work, Sir.

Love the new space and the new equipement, well deserved! The Alpina looks really good, it'll be fun to watch! Congrats !

Almost the perfect setup you have there Sreten. Looks fantastic and sure beats the driveway I have to use. Even then that's only on days where it isn't raining and isn't freezing. Scotland at this time of year has lots of both. Yay.

Hi Streten, I just rebuilt an N62 engine in a 545i E60. I think the Alpina B7 has similar engine (plus the supercharger and larger displacement). I have couple hours of unedited videos of the project (engine removal and rebuild). I can share the information and videos if you need them. Please message me if you are interested. Thanks. Tamas

Nismo

My F07 550i GT had that engine malfunction warning reduced power when it needs coils and spark plugs. Cheap and easy fix that mechanics will up-play as a major issue.

m539restorations

Well, reduced power can come from many things. Codes that I'm getting are pointing me to cam timing.

Streten, is this the same car from the Hoovies Garage ? His B7 was black with the same engine issue (not sure about the nail) and he sold it on to a parts dismantled in the US.
