Say Hola to project Castellón!

Some of you guessed it. It's the genesis, the very first generation of the 3 series!
1980 BMW E21 323i, the most powerful 3 series back in the day!

Truthfully, I wasn't looking for this model, I just did my usual scan of car listings before I went to bed when this one caught my eye. Texted the seller in the morning and got the ball rolling.
It's been off the road and stored in a garage for the last 25 years! Speedo reads 93.484 km (58k miles), no idea if it's original but sure would be nice if it is.
I was told they didn't try to start it which is excellent. It's rust-free but later I learned it has a bit of rust in the corners of the rear windows but the rest of it is solid. Don't know yet if the paint is original.

The seller had a lot of people interested in it so I had to act fast. I sent the deposit on the same day and the following day (Saturday) a good friend of mine from Alicante went with his truck to buy it and pick it up. The old classic Mercedes tow truck is his. :)
I was so nervous whether I'll be fast enough to lock down this beauty, but it's officially mine! This model is super rare, especially a barn find like this one.

I've never had a proper old-school classic BMW such as this one and I'm beyond ecstatic! I'll be flying to Spain in a week or two as I need to go there in person and take care of the paperwork. The documents of the car are lost so I have to do a notary contract and some other stuff.

Please keep this on the down-low, as I won't reveal this project until the video drops!

Thank you! Can't tell you how excited I am about this project. :D

That is an absolute beauty. I wasn’t a fan of bmw until a few years ago when I got my first one. Now I see the older ones and they just look phenomenal. Can’t wait to see you working on this project. My lips are sealed 🙊

Congrats on the purchase! Love classic cars. Will you be filming the trip to Spain like before? Or is this just a quick in and out to do paperwork? Anyways, safe travels!

O well done man. Properly looking fwd to this.

Just awesome, looking forward to it! Love the exhausts on this model, so simple but cool!

Well well well, if that isn't a great colour! And sure enough, it's a tad neglected - who wouldn't be after 25 years in a barn - but I'm sure some elbow grease and a few spare parts will bring it back to live. Only issue that I could see is the availability of said spare parts. But I'm sure, you know more about that than I do. The old Mercedes transporter is still a looker (and reminds me of the old picture from the 30's where the Mercedes race cars were transported on open Mercedes trucks)!

Wow! What a cool car. Cant wait to see you work your magic on this one.

What is your plans with most of the cars you repair? I mean as in, do you keep the cars for yourself to enjoy, or do you restore them to eventually sell? Either way, I love your videos, and I wish you the best! :)

Fuel tanks on the E21s I'm familiar with are steel, so you may have to deal with rust in the tanks. The braided fabric fuel lines on the in-tank pump are notorious for letting air into the fuel system. This project is going to be fun to watch.

Great video and can’t wait for future installments. The E21 323i was the first BMW I ever rode in, as a kid, so it has a special place in my heart. Best of luck with getting this one back to its former glory
