Did your game improve and did it speed up loading times?

Extremely helpful. Wish I could merge my rather large tray file. Lol

True AI

I tried but after 3 hours of processing, I had to kill the process. 🙁

zer0_Mods_

try running S4Studio as admin next time, or adding less files to test how long it takes.

Is there a cap on how many GB can be read per merge file. I have a lot of large hairs that are probably like 4 GB per merge file

Anonymous

I have had this problem before, I think it caps at 2 GBs but I don’t know for sure.

I was going to follow this excellent tutorial and not just merge some packages like the Tripolis packages, but to cut out parts of another mod... yeah, that one... that has parts I just never use.

I'm in the process of sorting through my cc, getting rid of stuff I never use and then merging it. I've been meaning to do this and your tutorial gave me the kick in the butt to do it, Thanks!

wyrren

I haven't had time as I want to attempt to sort my CC out first. Hopefully this weekend!

zer0_Mods_

the more you sort the better it gets... takes time in the beginning (took me three days a year ago or so) but after that, keeping things clean and finding problems becomes really fast.

Ferdinand

Doing it this weekend.

I don't have so many CC's. Only a few mods and hairs and a few clothes. My game runs smooth already. And before I merge anything I would have to sort out stuff, that I never use, but I'm too lazy ;P

Went from over 15k files to just over 2k files.. Took me 2 days but my game runs like new again. Thanks for the great tutorial, Zero!

Yes, in fact I did it some time ago and it did not cause much effect, I read you and saw that the files must weigh 2gb and I tried again, I really do not know what I am doing wrong but I do not notice any change in my game and my pc is not a toaster

I did this as cautiously as I could (by creator mostly), but I did see improvement. Can you add merged CC to a merge? Does it have any ill effects?

instantmagic

you probably can but I wouldn't, after much trial and error, I have a simple solution. Identify the things you REALLY WANT to keep keep nothing that does not need repair sometimes clothes and hair are wonky, I'd test them first. You can add the recolors for an item of clothing you really like into the merge. You can merge animations you like from WW Do not merge mods though they get messed up. Hope this helps you!

zer0_Mods_

I merge cc merged by the original author sometimes, but most of the times I keep already merged files separated from the rest.

Sis

Im going to try merging my CC. but I have been slowly going through my content and removing stuff I don't use. Only folders I have left, are Clothes and Hair.. Those 2 are my biggest folders to go through.. After I get that all sorted, then I will try merging my content.

Ferdinand

Will this work on first and second gallery poses? For example, merge all the first gallery poses I have from various authors into one file?

Anonymous

Will it mess up something to combine mods?

zer0_Mods_

probably... but more than anything else, mods gets updated often and cc don't need to be updated as much
