Sorry, I don't know the name of the pack, and I got it only for "work" because complaints were already rolling... so here we go:

1. Inspired and Happy buffs from having a clean house made hidden. Removed the skill bonus and relationship bonus because it's shite. Removed the bonus/penalty for the Fun motive, left only the Hygiene one, because it's shite. I left the Tense/Uncomfortable ones visible.

UPDATED: tested the buffs against being added to pets.

2. Removed Filth Fiend/Dust Bunny... I don't even want to know what marvellous gameplay they have, never saw them in game and never want to. (No Audio version of this in the zip)

Looking for the sparkle now, but it seems an overly.

3. Slower Dust - should not be required anymore

4. No Sparkle: sparkle is an overly. The only way to edit it is editing the DST and the only mod I looked into and can assure you will work is THIS ONE

5. Residential Only, should restrict the dust system to residential and rental lots. If the lot is already dirty you need to clean it up. As this uses the same XMLs used to remove the bunnies, there is a merged version with both, only pick one! (No Audio version of this in the zip)

6. Vacuum Autonomy should happen only in residential lots and should be reduced.

FIXED: not being able to use the vacuum in some rooms. Technically not a bug: the game doesn't recognize some rooms like open floors as rooms, the interaction is tested to only happen inside, so the game fails to push this tested interaction from the first one you click. Since this conflicts with other mods that modify the vacuum interaction > the problem is the "is inside building" piece of the global test of the start vacuum interaction. Remove that and the interaction will work.

7. No Money From Bunnies: what the actual fuck

UPDATED: it wasn't only money, they can also find Selvadorada treasures... rebalanced what they bring to something more normal (rocks, toys, veggies... not rare ancient artefacts)

8. No Route Events those are the ones where a sim stops to smell things, enough said

9. No Cleanliness Romance buffs: this bullshit

10. No focused from cleaning: insane focused buffs (?!) all turned into +1 happy buffs.

11. Tiny and Haunted Residentials: it's... not a bug. they didn't include them, plain and simple. This enables dust in them.

12. Filthy: updated the Filthy lot trait to also affect dust (nope, it doesn't)

This pack is a bloody mess.

No Audio Version: also removes the audio bump, conflicts with the mods with the same names, so only pick the normal or no audio version.

Maxis, you own me 5 quid

Thank you for sacrificing your sanity for the sake of our games 😄 the clean buffs drove me insane in a matter of seconds.

Anonymous

Please consider making a mod that stops sims from autonomously using vacuums on public lots, if it's not too much trouble. The local Starbucks isn't THAT filthy.

Anonymous

Oh thank god. I love the dust effects but not the bunnys that constantly show up🤣

zer0_Mods_

I was told the vacuum has more than one problem with autonomy... let's see what's up with that

Tootz1011

Will this stop the noise also?

Angel

Thank Goodness! The sparkles! The bunnies! The happiness!! It's just too much! 😆😆😆

Tootz1011

Every time dust appear it plays this dumb *** dinging bell noise lol

zer0_Mods_

Ohh... i think I saw that... let's see if I can remove it without conflicts

Tiffany

Thank you! No stupid sparkles! Now I’m going to get the vacuum.

Anonymous

In one word: Alleluia !

Anonymous

Hahaha so like 90% of the pack...er, kit... is removed. I honestly don't even wanna buy this kit, the moodlets, dust bunnies, and aspirations (????) seem so pointless to me

Anonymous

OMG!!! Okay, see I don't actually MIND the little dust bunny for some of my house bu the MONEY part? It's like you read my MIND! And the Clean Buffs too! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Anonymous

Thank you! Everything I was concerned about regarding the kit came through. But I still wanted the ability to vacuum and make my sim’s life harder. The home catching fire because everyone was at work was too hard 😅

Anonymous

You are a hero. Thank goodness for modders like you. I'll never download one of these stupid kits on launch day again.

zer0_Mods_

Me too... I'm uninstalling it as soon as i can, it's not just useless, it's annoying.

Anonymous

I never downloaded something so fast. You are a life saver!

Anonymous

Perfect! Thank you so much! I wanted to make my Sims' lives harder, not reward them with free money when I'm playing a rags to riches 🙄.

Anonymous

I actually like the dust and vacuuming for realism but why add all the annoying features? Esp the dust creatures and sparkling floors... um

zer0_Mods_

No idea... what I know is that you can get a better done mod, with more logical features, twice the xmls and 3 times the objects for the same price (i.e SCCO)

Anonymous

Is there a way to turn off the annoying money that is collected when dust bunnies appear? I dont know if its because of that kit or a mod i have. But it never did that before the dust kit. I mean my sim is a painter but i dont think you get royalties every 10 seconds 😅

Anonymous

Do you have any plans on removing the fire, or change it. I feel it is a weird feature. Ok if it was so that fires that was started by something else would spread faster in a dirty place, but I don't feel the dirt should start the fire. And do you believe the vacuuming could be modded so they could change where they do the vacuuming after a while, like walk arround little instead of being on the same spot like all the time? Couldn't one maybe add some walking interaction as a mixer inside the vacuuming interaction? 🤔

zer0_Mods_

The fire is caused by the bunnies as far as I saw (they explode). I don't think the interaction for the vacuum allow that, and they seem to have some problems at the moment. I don't plan keeping this pack installed so this really was an emergency modding

Anonymous

You are awesome!! Thanks so much!!

Anonymous

Thanks. I like the idea of adding realistic chores. But all I'm really looking for is penalties for not doing it, graphics for when things get dirty, and the actual chore itself. I don't want to inspire my entire household including the cat by vacuuming (I don't even think there's another way to get an inspired cat ). And I definitely don't want goofy animals popping up to pay me. Basically I just want it to do a lot less than it does. All of these are perfect for my current game, thanks!

adeepindigo

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I did not need sentient dust in my life.

mccncasters

thank you so much! i would love to have a mod where the money you get from the dust bunnies is greatly reduced but this works for the moment!

Claire Bradley

This post made me laugh! I haven’t bought the kit for practically all the reasons you have modded out!! Great work! This pack will forever be “dust shite” in my head now 🤣🤣

Anonymous

So glad I found this. Thanks! Makes the dust system actually bearable! If I may. Any chance of (if you even still have the pack installed) a version that removes/hides the whole dust layer/dusty overlay and all the piles (all of it, even where there are no bunnies) from the ground altogether, so that the dust particles that float in the air are the ONLY visual indication that the house is dusty? If you're not interested that's okay. Just trying my luck lol.

Anonymous

Wait, two more tweaks have been added since yesterday? Awesome! Two more annoyances squashed! Fingers crossed you still find a way to remove the dusty layer and dust piles from the floor entirely, while leaving the dust particles in the air. That would make this perfection!

zer0_Mods_

Dust is an overly, it's all or nothing (particles are part of I I'm afraid). Dust piles can be removed (same way as the bunnies, they spawn in the same loots)

Anonymous

Thank you so much!

Kristel

Now that these mods exist, I *might* consider buying this pack. Before, it was a hard pass for me.

Anonymous

Considering we all deal with dirt and dust in our real lives, I cant imagine WHY THE HELL anyone would want to deal with it in Sims other than those who enjoy 100% accuracy and recreation of reality. While I don't own this yet if ever, Its sad that out of the 3 the dust one is the only one that actually does something special / added gameplay aside from just adding more clutter or clothes to the game. And even then... its Shite!!!

zer0_Mods_

The kitchen pack is slightly better but still some cc creators have better stuff for download... For free (i.e. Peacemaker)

Anonymous

Daggone it! Would you consider doing a version that removes/disables the entire overlay then (+ the individual piles that spawn)? I can live without the air particles too if I have to, I just like the realism of my Sims having to vacuum. Yeah I'm weird lol Or do I need to stop hoping and move on from this already? lol

zer0_Mods_

Waiting for Sims 4 Studio to see if I can edit the overly directly. I only have the xmls.

Anonymous

Zero the Hero! I had to disable the pack because I didnt want my sims to vacuum 24/7 and have dust bunnies everywhere, but Im giving it another go with these mods lol

Anonymous

Cheat? You mean the in-game option to turn it off?

Anonymous

Is it just in my game or sims can't even use the regular vacuum (not handheld) in small rooms/spaces? My sims always go outside to vacuum. And I'm not even playing on tiny home lots. There's more than enough space so idk

Baldylocks

Thank you for this! I actually like most of this pack apart from the fact that it doesn't get dusty in tiny or haunted houses, so thanks for making that possible! weird they didn't include that....

zer0_Mods_

They come from different pack, it's not the first time the don't include something from other packs... that test in the module is weird

Anonymous

My Sims are living in a container (tiny home) and can’t vacuum indeed. They throw a routing tantrum. Had to disable the pack before the floor would catch fire..

Anonymous

“Maxis you owe me 5 quid” 😂🤣 We actually need 15 something mods and counting (adding the ones Littlemssam made) to make this dlc bearable and playable. I’m such an idiot..

zer0_Mods_

They owe 5 quid to every modder is fixing their shite... i bought this only for that

Anonymous

Things like this is why they need to start paying modders or let modders charge for their work. Because it's not right that they be allowed to do minimal effort and get $40, 20, 10, 5 a pop for that minimal effort. Then modders like you work so hard and yet you have to get by on donations or tips. It's obvious that the modding community cares about the game very much whereas EA is literally just treating it like a cash cow.

Anonymous

This post is hilarious! Thanks for the quick fixes. You rock!

Angel

It's still hard for me to believe they butchered a pack this badly. I feel like they tried too hard to make the "dust" exciting or something. I was actually looking forward to this pack for more domestic chores for kids and it turned into a bloody mess!! And I wish they would let the constant the buffs go all together it's getting ridiculous. Sims should at least be neutral most of the time. Anyway you totally saved this pack from an uninstall!!! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

SnarkyWitch

Thank you! This is a lifesaver. I personally like the moodlets and dust bunnies and rewards they give so I left that stuff in but I installed basically everything else. Now the kit is exactly the way I like it. My biggest gripe is that they didn't think it necessary to enable dust in haunted houses. Like really? You don't think a dust pack would be perfectly suited to old, abandoned, haunted houses? Did I miss something?

AthenaVee

Didn't you make a mod to make vacuuming possible off grid? Why can't I find it?

Anonymous

Have you seen if going inside with shoes will increase dust a bit more? Was wondering if they added some interaction between that no shoes sign from snowy escape and the dust system. It feels like there should be something like that. But I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't.

zer0_Mods_

I think the only thing they updated is the robo-vacuum (and we can thank god for that... I'm surprised they did)

Vidde

I am a bit confused. "No Audio Version: also removes the audio bump, conflicts with the mods with the same names, so only pick the normal or no audio version." but there is no other package files with the same name as "no audio version" because they are not that version. Also there is references to zip files with no audio version of this. But all the package files are downloaded separate? Should I just avoid the "no audio" file?

Vidde

I may just be very tired and reading this all wrong, please just correct me if so :) <3

Kellie Schiavone

If you have time, could you take a look at the speed of dust accumulation in Tiny/Haunted Houses? I'm playing in a Haunted House right now and it feels like the game only goes a few hours between cleanings before we move from Clean to Dusty (and so on).

zer0_Mods_

Dust accumulation is global so it doesn't change on tiny houses or haunted ones as far as I saw in the files... but it may depend on how many sims are on the same floor since it uses an Actor level lot participant.

Anarkia

I want you to know that I downloaded the kit because of your mod. Thank you very much! Also what do you mean by slower dust not needed? They fixed it?

Kristel

Yes! I love the idea of the bunnies only appearing in Glimmerbrook!

Anonymous

I love these mods so much, the sniffing the clean room every few seconds is so darn annoying, Especially when sims walk right up to a pile of cat hair or a cat puke hairball and happily sniff (wtf?!) Between this and Little Ms Sam's 'Random Small Mods' to stop Mermaids from squeaking like dolphins, I'm a happy girl. Played with mermaid precisely ONCE because she wouldn't stop flapping her hands and squeaking while on the toilet, ugh.
