This is a mod I did when I tried to fix another mod I was using for the same purpose, and then decided that I didn't like that mod at all in the end, and decided to work a mod that did the same thing but that I actually like. Originally I shared it on Tumblr only to avoid the usual copyright shit that always arise in this cases, but i now decided that I don't give a fuck about this kind of "problems" and I'm going to officially release it.

The purpose of this mod is to disable autonomy on a singular sim basis. The new option "autonomy" allow to disable autonomy or to set the autonomy to specific behaviour.

Here is a quick explanation of the various settings:

- No sleep and Eat: when this option is active, the sim will not take care of the energy and hunger motive at all, it will have autonomy on for all the other things, but you will have to direct him or her to eat and sleep (the purpose of this option is to avoid naps and quick meals)

- Do not disturb: when this option is active, other sims will be less likely to pick that sim for a chat (the purpose of this option is to prevent other sims from joining the conversation during dates, the option must be active on both sims)

- Remove umbrella and Disable umbrella: remove umbrella instantly removes the umbrella user trait from the sim, disable umbrella always removes the umbrella on loading the household (to prevent sims from being given umbrellas when rotating household)

- Disable mourning: self explanatory

- Disable Phone Use: Self explanatory

- Turn off autonomy: turns off autonomy for that sim, the autonomy for washing hands is untouched because disabling it would disable also the washing hands after toilette.

- PreRoll Off: disable the preroll autonomy. When you load a lot you can see the sims doing random things like browsing web and such. I don't like it and prefer to find my sims just standing there. This option disable the random stuff the sim do on loading a lot.

- Houseworks: allows to set the autonomy to focus only on cleaning, gardening or fixing things, the sim that has one of the options active will not take care of any need and will only focus on the task

- Behavior: there are various options to choose from, for example, Play Instruments will have the autonomy to focus on that alone, you need to keep an eye on needs when one of these options is active

- Turn off/on autonomy for... : while all the other options are based on traits and as such, they stick when you travel or rotate household, the ones under this menu are based on buffs alone and do not stick or in any case, are easier to remove. I made it this way because I wanted the options under this menu to be active on NPCs too, but to not stick if I forget to turn them off. There are various options, for example, it allows to turn off autonomy for reading or dancing.

All the options work on singular sim basis.

This mod requires the XML Injector to work (From the comments section updated by Triplis, it still works)

___UPDATES:

24/12 Updated the way the blacklist for the umbrella works.

I have the mod from sacrificial, but honestly like this one better as it gives me way more control. Do you know if this conflicts with his mod?

zer0_Mods_

nope, it doesn't. The id are all new in both mods and in any case I used another maxis buff to have the same effect.

Blarean50

Awesome! Thank you so much for all you do! I am so glad that I found you.

thx for that super usefull mod

Hi Zero! I love your autonomy mods and this one is fantastic! I do have a quick question though - what exactly does "Free Time" mean or do under Behaviors? Thank you so much, your mods have really saved this game for me.

zer0_Mods_

That's actually a place holder option. right now, the sim will focus on watching tv and such... I intend to divide the options I put into it and make new options in the future.

Sheila Lobert

Is it possible to make flower arranging autonomous here?

zer0_Mods_

It should. My issue is... I use Lms Sam mod where all the flowers are required and don't know how autonomous flower arranging and her mod are going to interact and that's the reason I didn't include it, but yeah... Should be easy to include.

Your mods make ts4 so much more enjoyable!

instantmagic

Yeah I like this a lot better. I'll disable dancing for my sims. Thank you!!

zer0_Mods_

I can make a "trait" options for the dancing if you need, in case the option gets turned off when you travel (right now is based on buff, with a trait it would stick until you turn the option off)

Cynel

i think this will work better for Servos to behave more robotic

Just a note that the newest version of the XML Injector can be found here: https://scumbumbomods.com/#/xml-injector/

Thank you so much for this mod! It really helps to make the sims behave the way I want. If you're going to update this sometime, I'd greatly appreciate if you could make the "season idiocy off" option trait based. It just ticks me off so much to see my supposedly serious adult sims run to make snow angels everytime I don't pay attention to them. :'D

zer0_Mods_

I have another mod to leave the stupid interactions of season autonomous only for childish, erratic adults and teen, children, toddlers. I don't think I ever published it though... I kinda forgot it was in testing. I need to check.

Is it possible to split up the autonomy based on "interests" of the Sims? Such as, my "gamer" Sim will autonomously play video games. My artistic Sim will autonomously paint or use the sketchpad instead of having the "play all instruments" options. And the bookworm would autonomously read instead of doing any of those things? And maybe the tech-nerd Sim would autonomously socialize online or play computer games? This is definitely my favorite mod though, since I was sick of my artistic Sim playing basketball outside. It drove me nuts.

zer0_Mods_

Use this mod in addition with triplis love&hate to achieve that. My mod will modify the autonomy, triplis mod will take care of blocking the autonomy for things you don't want your sim to perform. This is the combination I use in my game and it's the one that gives the best results in term of customization.

does the preroll autonomy span the whole save or just that sim?

zer0_Mods_

Singular sim based. (I have a mod to stop it on a whole game basis for personal use, but I never released it)

Tytta Marzh

I love this! I'm so sick of my Sims constantly talking to the butler and not letting him work, I guess this will help ... But I have a question, what does "Season Idiocy" mean? I'm trying to translate but I don't know...

zer0_Mods_

It means that disable the autonomous season activities like playing in the snow, in the rain etc for that sim

Tytta Marzh

Oh!! haha xD Parlo anche un po 'di italiano, saluti!

Tytta Marzh

Hello, I was wondering if with that mod it is possible to disable cleaning interactions as well, it seems that everyone is so obsessed with cleaning and it seems useless to me to have a butler or maid...

zer0_Mods_

I have them disabled but not in this mod. They're obsessed because the interactions are tuned in the ages buffs... It must be tweaked in Ages behaviour tweak.... if you want that, I can release my personal version of that mod.

Super excited to try this one. Thank you!

Thank You!

Sam D.

Thank you so much for the remove umbrella part of this. I give all my botanist and adventuresome sims the waterproof trait (that makes sense) and they STILL USE AN UMBRELLA .This has been driving me nuts....

Phil Kewley

Hi I am not seeing the option to disable umbrellas - it drives me nuts seeing interactions fail because they're all carrying umbrellas - even when I removed the trait. Help!

zer0_Mods_

Disable umbrella should be there when they have the umbrella so try disabling it before removing it. I have another mod around here that works a lot better for removing the umbrella tho, try looking for it (I'm form mobile right now) let me know if you cannot find it I'll send you the link.

Phil Kewley

Thanks I tried it with a bunch of Sims that had umbrellas but there was no option to disable them... I am trying the old MTS no umbrella mod that only works if you have them get rid of the umbrella first, it's better than the game dictating their use but I'd still love to just erase the freaking things altogether!
