lol the majority of people in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan knows how to play mah jong. Japan's pretty influenced by this too since the game takes quite a bit of calculations and is popular for keeping the elderly entertained.

These episodes are kinda mid tbh, but you're in for some great ones soon. Hot take though, I think the TV version of the benizakura arc is better than the movie. The movie is dope, but the TV version has better pacing and flow. They're both cool though

I know you guys already decided watch movie but two other reactors ,SphericalFilms and LuffyTDs who reacted to Gintama both watched Movie version first and then episodes, both of them said it would have been better experience/reaction to watch the episodes as a first time watcher due to pacing and other stuff. So my personal view on better watching experience is watching the episodes and then watch this 5 minutes scene from the movie which is basically one difference or what makes movie stand out https://youtu.be/Xsod3bL6zoA Just a recommendation for consideration

I agree with this take. The movie animation is dope, but it was made for people who had already seen the show in mind, so alot of stuff is skipped or rushed. It's still cool, but if you have to pick one the show is the better choice

I'm down for whether ya watch the movie or watch the episodes, but I will say the movie, while looking better, isn't paced as well as the episodes.

Id say watch the show because from what i remember the show has a a few better dialogue and characterization that adds a bit more. The movie still hits tho
