Great episode! I’ve been excited about this idea since reading Pollan’s ‘How to change your mind’ and am super interested in trying it one day for myself. Talk therapy has done little to nothing to help break the deep internal connections I have to my childhood trauma and having done MDMA recreationally I think psilocybin would be a natural next step. However I am too scared to do it on my own since I am neurospicy lol. FOLLOW UP Question for your wonderful guest… can others (non- clinic staff) be in the room with you? And if so, could I potentially bring my own therapist? For example someone could hire Dr. Honda for a session and that session just takes place at a psilocybin facility.

The clinical trials in the UK focus on anxiety, depression and PTSD. I wonder whether it could be used to treat other conditions too? Or what happens if someone with anxiety also has another type of mood disorder too? Are they ruled out of receiving the treatment?

Currently, the research is preliminary, so I don't think that question has been answered sufficiently. But to answer the first question, psychedelics have preliminary data suggesting it can help some people, on average, with PTSD, addiction, depression, and end of life.
