Okay so, people with narcissistic traits can either invade you with questions, or not ask anything about you at all? Thanks for this episode!!!

I think they meant that narcism comes in all forms and shapes and is often not enough to determine ones character.

I can't help but wonder though, there are obvious links to narcissistic behaviour and childhood experiences of neglect/belittlement etc. But what if they are still highly narcissistic, but haven't got a history of feeling belittled in family or at school/nursery/early years, or even at all in life? Is a high level of narcissism entirely linked to past experiences? Would it be a different explanation if someone was narcissistic and didn't have any past that would help explain it?

In my experience, there are two explanations: 1) their personalities were severely incompatible, or 2) they are not reliable historians (e.g., they actually did experience difficulty, but don't story their life that way). It's usually #2. One can be emotionally neglected in a loving family - this happens frequently among people of NW European decent and from East Asia.
