I’m listening to this episode again before the latest JP episode. I saw this meme/screenshot of a twitter post years ago and saved it. What Dr Honda is saying here about him just made me think of it. It said “These right wing "self help" gurus are pretty surreal. They are like: 1. Exercise regularly. 2. Focus on concrete goals. 3. Find supportive friends. 4. Women are serpentine creatures that undermine society and must be tamed by a dominant will 5. Stay hydrated.” So tricky and scary to me, but I get the point Dr K makes here about black-and-whiting it making it worse.

Sorry I just finished the episode and you said you wanted any responses tweeted to Berto because you were done with talking about him. I wouldn’t have commented if I had waited til the end!

There is actual video footage of people wanting to stop and telling them to, but the staff keep them in their uncomfortable position while goading them to not stop. I feel that this is wrong. It'd be different if they got the person to a place or position they feel safe, and then encourage them to continue after they've calmed down.... but this is not what's happening
