Cool, Kirk! Thanks so much. Lots of good stuff in here. I took improv classes throughout grad school to help with my social anxiety (it helped a lot, by the way), which really prepared me to teach. You're right on the money when you say we have to be an entertainer to keep momentum/curiousit​y. I was writing my teaching philosophy the other day, and I realized that I love teaching because I love being a student, so I'm trying to embody all the things about past instructors that I loved.
