Today in this mini-podcast I am chatting about how we are thinking of buying a home instead of renting. I need advice! Is this a good time to buy? Who knows! Not me! I know we are lucky enough to be able to finance a mortgage, but buying just sounds so scary lol. Help!

My partner and I are in the same exact situation, and I have no idea either! We're looking to move to the Salem-Portland metro area and rent prices are insane further North :S Ugh!

My partner and I are also in this situation. We live in North Alabama, in a town that's on the rise and beginning to have more and more transplants from progressive places out west. We originally planned on moving to Oregon after college but (in part due to racial stuff, as I'm a woman of color) have since decided to chill here for a few years. We've been renting, but the smarter choice does seem to be to buy and flip a house, since the value will only go up in this area and then we can turn a profit and peace out in a few years as the town grows more. It is weirdly intimidating though, but I would so love to have more freedom in making changes to a home and be able to infuse character and be truly at home in a home we made together. So yeah, we're definitely leaning more towards buying, since we could pay a mortgage about the same as we pay in rent each month. Maybe not the advice you're looking for, but hope it's helpful to know we're on the same struggle bus!
