April rewards! A beginner's sketchbook~ (Patreon)

Hope you're having an enjoyable Easter/Sunday so far and welcome back to another round up of monthly rewards! Can you believe that we're already halfway through April? My my how time flies...Anyways, I've got a solid batch of art to share with you this month and I'm excited for you to take a look and enjoy! 

This month was very interesting! I like to talk about my mental and psychological growth because ultimately they have the largest affect on what I choose to create. I focused a lot on reclaiming my voice in my work, something I felt like I had lost since the beginning of the year. I think I had strong ideas about what I imagined others' expectations of me were like and used those thoughts to wrongly guide myself. I also learned that I have a natural tendency to overthink things, a quality that both helps and harms me. Overall, I feel like I am better off and very much look forward to creating new work to share with everyone! ^^

I asked myself the question "What should I draw?" a lot this month and I think the best answer I've come up with is "Whatever I want.". I think our personalities and passion shine through best when we create the things we are genuinely interested in seeing. You know how you can tell when someone had fun working on something? I think it's similar to that concept. When we have fun, we don't care as much about the consequences or outcome of the project. We just enjoy the process and revel in self-expression. I think it's also something that comes naturally when we are children, but squashed out of us as we grow older. I want to continue embracing that child-like enjoyment and see what I am driven to create from it. If you find yourself needing some inspiration, I encourage you to allow yourself the freedom to explore and be open with yourself. :)
