Hello friends! βββ½βΊβ°κ΅β°βΎβββ£
Whew, I'm excited to share my longest speedpaint to date! Haha, longest speedpaint, kind of an oxymoron isn't it...Anyway! I've got a full 40+ min of footage to share with you in this one! Some patrons have expressed an interest in seeing how I approach larger/completed pieces with backgrounds and I thought capturing how I work on postcards would be perfect. I think the only part that's missing is how I did her dress, but otherwise everything is there! I didn't record the dress part because I kept going back and forth on what I wanted to do with it and I thought I'd spare you the mental nonsense. >.<
I hope this is helpful! When I work on larger pieces like this I usually break up the work into several sessions. So I might work for 20 minutes, take a break to do something else, come back, work another 20 minutes and so on. I find it helps keep my perspective fresh and prevents me from overworking a piece and taking it in a direction I don't want it to go (which I've done many a time...). Leaving a piece overnight and then looking at it again in the morning has the same effect, so if you ever find yourself stuck on something I suggest giving yourself a break from it so you can come back with fresh eyes! ^^
