Happy Friday! Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend? ^^ I might take another trip to the beach and enjoy the warm summer weather that his quickly rolled into town~ 

I'm really excited to share these super colorful and summery pieces with you today! In my last post I talked about how Mermay encouraged me to approach my creative process in new ways and I felt inspired to bring that into this month's postcard! It feels different from the portraiture theme I've been following the past few months, but I wanted to try something new and I'm so happy I did. ^^

I'm starting to develop an interest in drawing backgrounds and environments (it feels weird saying that since I used to dread drawing them), which has been so exciting! It feels like I'm unlocking a new area in a video game haha, there are so many more skills and techniques available now that I'm exploring different subjects. ♡✧( ु•⌄• )

Above: For June's postcard I wanted to capture a scene that felt welcoming and bright with a hint of magic, like a warm summer day~ A patron had suggested that I experiment with brighter colors in my art and that encouraged me to switch up my usual color palette with something more lively. I also took this opportunity to draw a lot of plants because doing so always puts me in a relaxed mood. 

I used a similar theme for this month's sticker and really leaned into the summer vibes with this piece. I wanted it to feel fresh and light, like the first sip of cold lemonade on a hot day! Plus there's just something about gingham that feels quintessentially summer. I think this sticker will make a lovely addition to the Patreon collection as well as anywhere you choose to put it! *u*
