January postcard // Apple blossom~ (Patreon)

First of all, happy new year! I hope you're having a good 2018 so far and are able to find time to fill your life with moments of happiness~ It's exciting to have a fresh start in life, though it's also true that we can change at any moment. I wanted to try something new to celebrate the new year and explore different approaches to creating. 

I've been inspired by linework recently and have been experimenting with it in my artwork. I love how it can make colors look bold and clean whilst adding an extra layer of detail. For this piece I chose to work with some of my favorite colors (red and green) and play around with the composition to make it feel striking and vibrant. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to varying linework and using it to elicit different emotions and this drawing was a good step forward. Overall, I'm excited to continue learning and playing around with different styles of art! ｡^‿^｡
