June postcard: Poppy (Patreon)

Hope you are having a lovely weekend so far~ I've finished the postcard design for June and wanted to share it with you all! I had this vivid image in my mind of a woman with big blooming flowers and this is what I came up with. I've always loved poppies (they actually made an appearance in April's postcard as well!) and think they look like very fun and playful flowers. I especially love their color, that bright zingy red is such a treat for the eyes~ 

You may notice that this month's postcard doesn't feature any headphones. Yes, it was a conscious choice to do so, but I honestly think it looks stronger without headphones. I'm not staying 100% true to my headphones series, but it's refreshing to try something new! June was a hectic month for me and I apologize for the lateness of this piece, but I hope you like it! I think she's super adorable and really enjoyed drawing it and working with some new textured brushes in Paint Tool SAI. Here are the brush settings I used for the flowers if you're interested: (not my brush, came as a default with my version of SAI)

Ooh, I also recently finished the sketch commission from the Patreon giveaway! I had the lovely opportunity of drawing the ever so sweet Mackenzie~ She kindly let me share it so here's what I came up with!

I look forward to reaching the next stretch goal so I can hold another, bigger, better giveaway for you all! I know I'll have to work much harder, but I'm ready to put in the time.
