Hey Patrons,

Happy June!

Happy Halfway Point of the Year!

Happy Pride!

Happy Jason’s Birthday Month!

SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE is eating up the worldwide box office this month. It came out on Jason’s birthday weekend and we had a wonderful time celebrating the hardest working person on Team Jawiin will cameos from his favourite Spidey - Miguel O’Hara!

If you haven’t been a GHL listener from the very beginning (9 years ago!), we actually did an episode on SPIDER-MAN 2099 in our very first year of podcasting! Check it out for a throwback to the old studio (a closet with no air conditioning!), our old microphones, and our old personalities:

Geek History Lesson just released our MAN OF STEEL 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY RETROSPECTIVE featuring a very special Guest Professor - Diego Anthony Nunez! Diego has been a listener from the OG days of GHL and an integral part of our Super Friend community here for years & years & years. Diego became our first Research Assistant a couple years ago & made his debut on the podcast last year during our LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS episode. He’s also a super active part of the JAWIIN DISCORD! We have a lot of movies coming up for our Summer Semester here in the Mind University. Don’t forget to check out our post here in the Patreon feed detailing our next 4 episodes!

This week the Geek History Lesson Blog is returning from hibernation with a whole new format - so keep your eyes peeled right here.

Geek History Lesson Extra is even more Diego! Our main episode this week is one of the longer episodes we’ve produced recently, yet we somehow convinced Diego to stick around and chat even more superhero movie goodness with us. Next week’s GHL EXTRA is a wild episode you are going to want to listen to where we get pretty honest about our feelings on the character who is featured in our main Lesson and where we feel their shortcomings have come from over the years.

Jason and Jeremy Jawing About Justice League is about to get a serious upgrade! Mister Jason Inman and Mister Jeremy Skinner recently had occasion to record LIVE AND IN PERSON TOGETHER IN THE VERY SAME ROOM! They batch recorded a whole bunch of episodes which will release directly to the Justice League (and higher!), Tiers over the coming months. We’ve gotten into a really good batch of episodes and are on the brink of completing season 2 of Justice League: the Animated Series. If you remember a few weeks ago we asked for questions, so if you asked something tune in over the coming months & hear if your query was picked!

Super Best Friend #1 - 3 fulfillment has begun! Long time JAWIIN team member, Jordan Keeble (a collaborator dating all the way back to our Red Shirt Diaries days!), joined us last week to do all the prep work in order to get into the active phase of packing & shipping. Professor Jason has been having some incredible calls with backers (including many familiar faces from this very Patreon!). This is one of the most exciting phases of any Kickstarter. We’re so thrilled to be bringing Captain Terrific’s full adventure to you in your homes.

ICYMI we are having a PRIDE DEAL on SCIENCE! THE ELEMENTS OF DARK ENERGY for the month of June.

SCIENCE! is a great summer graphic novel for readers of all ages. It’s perfect for Middle Grade and higher reading levels. It’s full of fun science facts. AND it’s full of fun science fiction references from our most beloved franchises!

We would be so honoured to be part of your summer holidays this year.

The latest Film Footsteps enters into the strange and specific world of Canadian cinema. This month is Professor Ashley’s choice (as announced last month during our Apollo 13 episode), of 2006’s Bon Cop, Bad Cop. If you are a Thor or For All Mankind fan you’ll recognize Canadian actor Colm Feore as the lead of this bilingual buddy cop movie. For viewers in the United States you can watch Bon Cop, Bad Cop on Netflix right meow!

The Jawiin Discord has been popping recently! We’ve had a lot of new additions to the Discord fam in the past couple months & things have been more fun than ever before. Professor Ashley has started asking “Random Questions” every day in out #chit-chat thread which always inspire hilarious, insightful answers. Jeremy (of Jason and Jeremy Jawing About Justice League fame!), initiated a #collecti-bolo where Super Friends all over the world are picking up action figures for other Super Friends so we can all keep our completionists mentality happy.

Florida Supercon is July 4th weekend and the next Convention you can find us at. Ashley will be hosting a number of Main Stage Panels (including The Shazamily Reunion, The Boys, and Our Flag Means Death), and Jason will be a free agent all weekend long. If you’re in the Florida area we hope we get a chance to meet you in Miami at the end of this month!

Wear a GHL Enamel Pin to Supercon!

(if Ashley spots your wearing GHL flair she has a ton of swag on her at all times & is ready to give it to you when you say hello)

The past four weeks of the WGA strike have been hard on us. There’s upheaval all over in our world right now. Having this community to come back to and touch base with has been so grounding through all of this. Thank-you for helping us continue to build a better JAWIIN COMMUNITY. We love you.

Stay hydrated, lovable, and safe, Super, Friends!

Thank you

Jason Inman & Ashley Victoria Robinson
