One day late, but here it is! Modular animation :D

Honestly, I don't like making modular animation, I try to use them only for big sprites or other situations where it would save me lots of time. Even with many advantages, like being able to animate procedurally it's still feels stiffer and unnatural than animating frame by frame.

My favorite way to work is a weird mix of hand drawn frames with modular parts, fixing the rotation artifacts manually.

I can see how this would save time, and the sort of "stiff" feel of it might work well for mechanical stuff.

The worst thing on the planet is when people do modular animation with pixel art, but don't alias anything, and instead just have diagonal pixels rotating within higher resolution boundaries.
