Also, I don't think Palpatine knew anything, he looked genuinely surprised. I think if he was by himself or with the Taurus dude, that situation would have went differently.

This was originally Cad's first episode in the series. It was the first episode that went dark and promised a more serious series than the Jar Jar filled season 1 had delivered thus far.

Jar Jar was only in 2 episodes out 22 in Season 1 so I don't know how that made season 1 unserious. I think a lot of you'll are just remembering this show wrong or were way too young to understand what you'll were watching.

I don't know where you're getting your numbers. He was in the following episodes of Season 1: 108 Bombad Jedi 112 The Gungan General 117 Blue Shadow Virus 118 Mystery of a Thousand Moons And every time he appeared the quality of the show dipped into the negative. It was even worse in season 1 because Ahmed Best only reprised the character for Bombad Jedi. The rest of the season he was played by Phil LaMarr (credited as BJ Hughes) and his take on the character is even worse than the original.
