The confirmation that they are indeed dead happened at the end of that episode. Only if they were really dead (and therefore changed in the force) could Ezra have that moment of connecting with them through the force. Also, this is one of the instances where you need to pay close attention to all events revealed to get the full story (and fortunately, Rebels does that a lot): First Ezra's parents were taken to a prison and survived in there for a long time until one day they heard a transmission that somehow got to them from Lothal (probably over other prisoners taking it with them to other prisons). They immediate recognize Ezra and the knowledge that their own son continues what they started gives them the strength to plan an escape with other prisoners. During the escape they are some of the last to help all others to escape and, because of that, are killed during it. That for Ezra important event then triggers the vision and the episode begins. So when Ryder tells him that his parents are dead, they are dead for less than 24h

These exact ships the hammerheads were used to push the star destroyer into the shield facility in Rogue one.

Happy new year to the family!

EP12 " A Princess on Lothal" So those Hammerhead corvette delivered by Leia first appeared in Rogue One. If you recall back to the Battle of Scarif a Hammerhead corvette rammed an Imperial Star Destroyer forcing it to collide with another Star Destroyer both crashing onto the planetary shield that opened the way for the Rebels on Scarif to send the Deathstar plans to the ships in space which were then handed off to Leia. The Hammerhead we see in Rogue One is no doubt one of these ships we see in this episode but what i find really cool is this episode came out before Rogue One releasing in Jan 20, 2016 while Rogue One came out in December 13, 2016 so in terms of public release Rebels is their first appearance. If only the Sequels had this level of planning before hand when Rebels and Rogue One connect together so nicely and not to mention the Clone Wars connections as well. The design of the Hammerhead goes back centuries to the larger Hammerhead-class cruiser used by the Republic at the time of the Mandalorian Wars and later the The Jedi Civil War set 4000 years before the events of The Phantom Menace making it's first appearance in Knights of the Old Republic. 300 years after The Jedi Civil War (KOTOR) the Sith Empire returned and new advanced version of the Hammerhead-class cruiser was used which you can see in The Old Republic MMO. So pretty much the Hammerhead design has been around for at least 4000 years. Also Happy New Year to everyone.

Thank you and Happy new years to the both of you and your family

Ezra and Leia/Luke are born in the same year, but Leia just comes across as more mature because of her upbringing; remember she's royalty. I think they made her look a bit older to hit that Carrie Fisher likeness more accurately. And people just age differently.

Happy New Year, guys! Thanks for the video. Also, what a great batch of episodes!

Bradford

Happy new year! Great reaction!

As the overbearing Critical Role fan. Lieutenant List is the first one I've heard so far that was voiced by Liam O'Brian, a.k.a. Illidan Stormrage. He'll start showing up more and more as background characters in these SW shows now. If any anime fan looks him up he's literally in everything you've probably watched. Also I'm assuming I can be the 100th person to point out that Seventh Sister is voiced by Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar who's also married to Kanan. Also not sure if it's clear enough but the Fifth Brother is the same inquisitor as in the Kenobi live action show. Same as the inquisitor with the weird white lines head that died in the first season was also in Kenobi.

Ezra would be about two days older than Leia

Man, Jen always on point with the stuff she spots. Its uncanny how she was interested in the ships this trio of eps: the Hammerhead corvettes provided by Alderaan in ep 12 were seen in Rogue One. If you recall the Rebels using a small ship to ram a disabled a Star Destroyer into the other active one - that was a Hammerhead corvette named the Lightbringer, and the team has confirmed that was one of these three (Albeit with upgraded engines). Ryder Azadi is voiced by the one and only Clancy Brown (Savage Opress). Don’t blame the dude for not wanting to go back to jail. Those Imperial Prisons are a bitch…until an inspiring speech is given, at least.

Jonathan Ma

Filoni and team have mentioned they were tight with the Rogue One team, and one of corvette is indeed one used in Rogue One

Happy New Years to you guys!! Hope you guys had a great year and that this one is good as well… :).

Leia and Ezra are the same age, but they animated her to look older for some reason

Matthew Juttner

To expand on this, Erza is like 4 days older (a matter of days at the very least). Leia is design this way to show her upbringing. Keep in mind that Erza has been on his own for several years while Leia is Royality

Matthew Juttner

Ashoka's lightsabers were white btw. First time for that and there wasn't a comment about it

Deadpool

1 day older, Ezra was born on Empires day Luke and Leia were born after

You also see a certain ship and a certain General from Rebels on Yavin in Rogue One (won't say more), and you can also see the Rogue One influence on later rebels episodes

Ahsoka owning those fools with that music in the background never gets old.

When I saw the Hammerheads in the cinema watching Rouge One I was squealing like a teen girl on prom night. That movie did so much tieing together than no other movie ever came close to.

neutchain

@ André Dulac You can see a certain robot as well in the background on Yavin and said ship jumping in with the fleet over Scarif.

neutchain

In the Obi-Wan show it was shown that she was being raised to be the ruler of Alderaan from a very early age which would explain her maturity at this point.

Heads up: This isn't on the Rebels playlist.
