highly recommend checking out the avatar the last airbender comics they're great espcially the one that follows up the zuko mom's storyline

I think your feelings towards the series are perfectly understandable. I did watch the show when it aired originally and back then i was 7 or 8 years old so I definitely view this series through a lens of nostalgia. but even now, when I re-watch the series, I find that I struggle a bit to make it through book 1. I definitely see where you guys are coming from, and I'm super glad that you guys see where we are coming from too.

they planned for a 4th season but nickelodeon didn't want it . this foreshadows korras issues .

My all time favorite clip is when Zuko and Iroh meet each other again and Iroh starts hugging him. It always gets me emotional

So there is actually a whole other series after this called legends of Kora. It is also great and answers a lot of questions.

Hope you continue and watch The Legend of Korra, I think you may enjoy it more (although TLA is the better show/story) as it has much more mature characters and themes. Some pretty dark moments that I think you and Jen would enjoy. The villains are also absolutely fantastic and genuinely threatening; just like Ozai.

I’ve always heard that Season 4 was planned to go into production, but was sacrificed in favor of developing the movie. (Correct me if I’m wrong anyone.)Which always felt the biggest slap to the face growing up. Also the legend of Korra is a solid watch, I’d recommend it as the next series to watch.

Yeah 1 of the creators actually came out and said that was false there was no 4th season they only planned for 3 seasons

Legend of Korra is good. Watch it! Probably why the Katara/Aang thing doesnt seem as good as the Katara/Zuko thing is that Aang is only 12 years old.....Does ANYONE look at a 12 year old in a romantic way anywhere? even teenagers dont see a 12 year like that. I mean, im not an ageist, but there is a limit.

There was an idea for season four to be Zuko helping Azula which would have lead to some kind of redemption arc but it never came to fruition. Would have been nice to see Zuko take an Uncle Iroh like role.

The thing about that though is zuko is 16 which is the age of adulthood in alot of the world whereas katara is 13 a minor in most of the world so age wise its less creepy for her to b with the 112 year old
