The movie itself is a mess, but there are some really great visuals and moments sprinkled throughout, and it features probably the best "Spider-man swinging around the city scenes" out of any of the movies. Also, Gwens ultimate demise is really well done and truly heartbreaking. 5/10

I love the opening swinging sequence honestly. I just want a high budget movie of nothing but unique and fun swinging sequences, lol. The ps4 game kind of scratches that itch actually.

I wasn’t a fan of this when it came out, especially considering the writers attached to it have destroyed a lot of my favorite shows / movies. After letting a few years pass though, it’s not as bad. It’s hard to navigate what either group of movies gets wrong or right especially considering the comics reinvent the character every ten years or so, so depending on where you find the character, different scenes will have a different impact on people. I agree with Jen, this did a better job with all three villains, especially considering they all had about the same screen time and reveal structure. The Gwen scene was tremendously done (visual and audio) the only gripe being it’s not on the bridge etc. It bothers me, being from NY, that two kids from England are representing us, you can really only understand the mentality of being here when you’re born here, and the accent, fughettaboutit, but I guess he’s the closest of all three. The quips were better, the action scenes were great, I wasn’t as bothered by Osborne, but I understand the criticism. I’m not huge on the parents story and the blood part either, but I suppose they’re trying to tell their own version of it. Although I like Emma Stone (beautiful), she just never felt like Gwen to me, just a personal preference I suppose. Not bad all in all, maybe one day we’ll get an Ultimate Spider-Man that encompasses the best of all the movies.
